Song to Barcelona

Can song actually play for barcelona, While he has excelled for arsenal...Can he fit anywhere into the barcelona team? CB maybe? Note that song is actually a terrible passer of the ball when short passes are into play and he is terrible with possession when you consider barcelona standards...Then again mascherano was not much better before barca, so qhat say ye peeps?

Well cesc to be honest struggled and that is a terrible comparison still, cesc grew up on a passing game...

I think Song could be a good alternative to Busquets, especially against the smaller sides. Busquets does two things well: tackle (and I mean that in the rugby sense) and pass the ball to xavi (at a distance of 3 yards). Now, he does those two things very well, but that's what his game has been limited to. Song is quite capable of playing in the more aggressive, B2B/DM-hybrid role. He can pass, create, and still put in a good tackle when necessary. His energy and aggression is the perfect foil for Xavi in games where Barca don't need an out-and-out destroyer in the starting lineup.

I know many of you might not agree with me, but I think Song would be a great signing for Barca. Song actually offers Barcelona something they don't currently have. Yes, it is merely a variation on the DM theme. And yes, they already have so many DMs that they regularly play Mascherano at CB. However, Song is a very different type of midfielder from any player they currently have, barring Keita who doesn't look likely to feature for them next season.

First and foremost, he's suggesting Barca should play Song against the smaller, weaker sides... not against Madrid. Second, claiming Busquets can only tackle (poorly as well, by his insinuation) and play short passes is really underrating Buesquets.

I have never seen Bosquet attempting Long passes not even Xavi, I think he's right about Bosquet tackling.

Anyways I have a very low opinion of Bosquet..

Busquets is twice the player Song is. Busquets reads the game better, far betetr under pressure, makes better decisions and betetr at intercepting without looking like a thug! Song is as good as lassana diarra.

I won't lie, I'm not the biggest fan of Busquets. However, I'm not trying to criticize him too harshly. I don't know that I'm underrating him that much. I believe tackling and a short passing game are all that have been asked of him throughout much of his time at Barcelona, and he performs his duties at a world class level. However, Song offers a very different dimension that could be very helpful against teams that merely want to set up defensively and hold out for a draw or a fluke goal. In those situations, I think Song would help far more than Busquets. While Busquets can wonder forward, he's not a player that will regularly support the attack and create goals for other players. In that respect Song is far superior. If you want a player to cover the CBs, who are regularly asked to be the only true defenders in BArca's system, Busquets is by far the better player. I think of Busquets as an advanced CB, who is capable on the ball.

Btw, it's not that I think Busquet tackles poorly. Quite the contrary. I think he tackles very well. However, he also likes to physically bully the opposing player while dispossessing them. Not a bad quality, but also not a quality that endears him to non-barca supporters.

Need a centreback and one who has experience. This DM converting to a CB theory is a big risk and tbh we were lucky Mascherano adapted well... Song will not be a success as he cannot tackle..

The Arsenal boss was adamant the Gunners have received no approach from Barca.

Cameroon midfielder Song, 24, has been linked with a £12million move to the Nou Camp.

He said: “There’s nothing going on with Song. There’s nothing in that.

“Song has three years contract he’s not in the same situation as Robin Van Persie.

i believe song played cb against blackpool a few years ago when we won 6-0
