I really believe Song can't play at CB, Mascherano is going to be permanently moved there. Song will rotate with Busquets at best, and i guess bring in physicality to the game

TO be honest, the need for him at barca is so limited that one can simply have theories of his role there without actually know what it truly would be.

i think song leaving is a bad deal for both parties tbh song is a great player imo and hes always going to play second fiddle to any of the barca midfielders.

he seems like a player that wants to play and not risk being on the bench the rest of his career. if song really wants to leave or wenger is really trying to cut him loose there are way better alternatives.

Song is a natural CB no need for converting. I also believe he's a better CB than DM. Atleast he's been good when played there the past two seasons.

He was never really utilized at all in Arsenal as a CB as far as i remember

I dsagree . If busquets can play in our defence then Song, who was actually a CB before, can definately be our CB. He wont be first choice in the bigger matches ofcz but in case there are injuries he can comfortably slot into CB,no sweat

You realise when Song was a CB he was worse than Silvestre his positioning is quite bad?
Arsenal fans were expecting him to be sold until he somehow turned out to be a good DM, although his positioning is still quite poor for a DM as he tends to drift forward too much.
This is why Arsenal fans are saying it's not too bad if he does leave and we pick up Capoue or M'Villa as positionally they are much more sound.

yes Song is way >> Keita and it would suck to lose him, not going to lie. pretty sure we won't be getting a replacement :/

Ummm, well honestly how did Busquets in CB actually work out for Barca? Yeah, it didn't work out too hot.

As for slotting into CB, if we're expecting to concede a lot of goals, sure. If we actually want to keep the other team from scoring- which, by the way, is always a good thing- then I would advise against playing Song as a CB...maybe against relegation fodder.

And Song being better than Keita is nothing to brag home about. It's like saying you've bought Crouch instead to replace Heskey.

This is a fantastic deal for Arsenal given they replace him. Of course one has to wonder if Arsenal will actually replace him.

He is good at bringing the ball out of defence, but even then I don't need to remind Arsenal fans how many times he gave the ball away in a critical area.
