Re: Champions League '24/25
I never get why specifically Barca learning thinks so highly of a PSG squad especially the one they have now. Which top player do they even have? None.
What the heck does one expect of this now non-designer squad?

I agree about Asensio he is incredibly limited and remains to be living off his initial hype years ago.

Re: Champions League '24/25
PSG seem to be doing just fine in the league. I checked the tables of all top leagues earlier in the season, and noticed that PSG had scored 20 goals in extremely few games. The highest in the EPL at the time was Man City with 9 or so goals after an explosive start to their league season.
They seem to have been beaten by Bayern and the Bundesliga since then. PSG currently have 29 goals in the league, Bayern have 32 and are «in a league of their own», as they say. Looks like Kane may finally win a trophy

All the talent in the world can't help you if you half ass everything, Mbappe kind of proves that these days. Talent means nothing if you can't tap into it and your head isn't there. With Dembele it always felt like his mind was elsewhere

Dembele has been very professional for a few yrs now compared with b4, the problem is always his final product...
Bayern should have the league given Lever is regressed n the others suck as usual
PSG I think are mixed still, some really good players, but then u got Donnarumma n that backline is overrated as always, plus Enrique doesnt know how to play defense, most of his players are ball playing midfield attackers, the FBs are Hakimi n Mendes n with no proper DM, that means its always gonna be unbalanced n unrealistic. He should have been gone in the summer but hes still here so its just the same stuff pretty much

I agree but Dembele was excellent with Xavi so he wasn't a complete lost causeMyesyats wrote:halamadrid2 wrote:Dembele is actually very good with the right coaching. Like a superior Raphina minus the work rate plus superior dribbling if you like

Yeah wouldn't say lost cause. He was still our most dangerous attacking outlet most of the time and we relied on him for creativity but that's also largely due to how Xavi set up the team. Still, he never seemed 100% committed to the team and focused. I just read Barca scouted Hazard but decided against signing him because for all the talent that he had, he arrived to training late and went to the dressing room first, staring into the stands most of the time rather than actually training. The fact that dembele trashed his room and forced a transfer in a very ungentlemanly way tells you everything about him, ended up being injured more than actually playing for us

Re: Champions League '24/25
Dembele went from being the least disciplined individual to an actual footballer under Xavi. I don't know what kind of motivational tactics he used but it worked wonders. But he has the worst people advising him. Terrible career choices. He's actually quite effective at QSG but they aren't good at the highest level which was exactly the same last season. Dembele wasn't suddenly going to elevate them after losing their top scorer Mbappe.Myesyats wrote:halamadrid2 wrote:I agree but Dembele was excellent with Xavi so he wasn't a complete lost causeMyesyats wrote:

That brief resurgence under Xavi was really odd. Remember that stretch where he just decided to prevent Benzema from taking both the pichichi and the top assists and started spamming accurate crosses for 3 months straight

Re: Champions League '24/25
His talent his extraordinary. His goal years ago v Inter on the counterattack summed him up for him. Beautiful reading of open space, very two-footed and comfortable on both feet and deft skill when he's on.
Problem is he rarely is on and has a Balotelli-esque approach to his footballing life.

Can't believe City threw away a 3-0 lead that lasted up until the 75th minute. Was expecting a 5+ trashing, but somehow they got a draw instead
I think the importance of Rodri being out is overstated. Even if he returns and doesn't miss a beat, it's not going to mean much when the other defenders are this mentally defeated.

He cut himself with his nails, according to himself. He jokingly said "I wanna harm myself" in the post match interview.

Yann Sommer is the only player RWO was right on because her criteria for liking them was either based on
their looks
if they are German.
he has had an incredible career for such an underdog. insane shotstopper

Rwo's Hitler vibe was spot on.
Still hope she's well, somewhere out there.

He was urged to publicly apologize for his previous statement, as some people felt he was making light of self-harm. He's now apologized for joking about scratching himself, and refers to the British help-line for self-harm. Is there anything that doesn't offend someone these days?

Nobody is actually offended, it's just a routine PR move by the club.
The anti-SJW crowd is blowing a trivial thing out of proportion and having a collective meltdown over it online, as is tradition.
