He’s great and I like him but he’s not the best young LB in our ranks. De la Vibora is a better talent imo, much better offensively. They could complement each other very well though

Have no idea what you’re on about; he was outstanding offensively last season.

Players play simple during games they want to impress in. It shows maturity and calmness

That Betis chance which Miguel saved. Militao and Alaba  they seem to always run into eachother or fumble at the same time.

Hope Carlo wasn't serious when he said he likes Alaba best at CB. He's a much better LB

^ I was so angry but I couldn't help but laugh its like they both decided to play QWOP and completely lost their footing. Had that been a goal I'd probably would have broke something

Absolut amateur hour stuff. Probably due to lack of preseason playing together. Militao joined the group very late together with the SA contingent. Alaba was playing with Nacho before that. They probably need more games to gel if Carlo decides to play Alaba at CB like he mentioned. Games that are not away against Betis

I mean, duh right? The young man trying to displace both Mendy and Alaba as our starting LB, keep it simple and impress whenever one can.

Has been one of Girona's best players.

He always looked like quality

Is he or can he be better than Mendy and Fran Garcia in the team?

Future is Canadian Davies. Mendy will get sold. Fran gets backup role to what likely will be one of the best (and fastest) LB in world, meaning backup will seldom play.

Davies coming means that our CBs better play MUCH better. He doesn't defend at all. Keep that in mind.

Rudiger has been immense though. Just worried about the other side.

He defends as well as Marcelo did. I say next year’s Cbs are Militao and Rudiger. If they get Davies, they then need to look for a RB and then deal with new backups for all 4 positions. Alaba has really shown weaknesses this year and Nacho has maybe 1, 2 at most seasons left.

The potential lineup with Davies is pretty incredible.

Forwards; Vinicius, Rodrygo, Mbappe or Haaland (?), with Brahim, Joselu and Endick in reserve.

midfield; Bellingham, Valverde, Camavinga, Tchouameni with Ceballos, Güler, Nico Paz, possibly Kroos in reserve

Defense; Carvajal, Militao, Rudiger, Davies, Courtois with Vinicius Tobias (maybe), Nacho, Alaba, Fran, Kepa or Lunin in reserve.

Fran Garcia is a road runner with a wonderful cross. He struggles when pressed and can't pass or link up. He can run up with a inverted winger .

Miguel is excellent in linkup . Good at invert and touching line . Master at reading the game and space. Creating triangles. He is definitely no where near Fran Garcia for final ball but excellent in his own half and getting out of tough situations.

Sounds like the perfect fullback.

I would say he is a better attacking player as well.

Fran Garcia hasn't convinced Ancelotti.

He doesn't have any particular skill where he excels.

Seeing rumours that Alphonso Davies has agreed to sign.

I'd prefer Miguel Gutierrez.

Local boy. Loves the club. Knows the team.

Davies is a glamour signing. Miguel is the better fit.

I think he a better player with a higher ceiling than Davies

No point when we're linked with Davies. Though imo we don't even need that guy either or this one. Guy is just another Fran waiting to happen. Rather give more time for Fran.

Very worrying stats for Mendy.

Would like to see an analyst make a comparison stats wise and vision test-wise comparing Miguel Gutierrez and Fran Garcia, what I've gathered from what I've seen and read is that Gutierrez is generally considered the bigger talent with the higher and more sophisticated talent ceiling. Defensively both have always been questionable.

Based on some stats on fbref Gutierrez does have Fran beat in most parameters except... defensively, where both come off rather abysmally compared to positional peers, especially Gutierrez.

https://fbref.com/en/players/7226539b/scout/365_m1/Fran-Garcia-Scouting-Report

https://fbref.com/en/players/7e98cff1/scout/365_m1/Miguel-Gutierrez-Scouting-Report

Davies comes generally on top of all of Mendy, Fran, and Gutierrez defensively...

https://fbref.com/en/players/d781d855/scout/365_m1/Alphonso-Davies-Scouting-Report

Confusing stats as they're for the last 365 days but I remember Mendy not having a bad season last year, his worst match probably being that away match vs Bayern.

If Davies (hopefully) comes, I think based on his age and what we're seeing Mendy should be sold and the Gutierrez vs Fran thing should be well considered by the club.

Again, defense aside, Gutierrez does seem to beat out Fran, he's also significantly taller and he's also younger than Fran by two years.

Since when is height a thing for fullbacks? The flanks are where the speedsters are at, agility and acceleration are more important than height. Being taller as is only makes you less agile so nty.
