I don't understand why some people think that he will play as a CB for Barca.

He's not going to be a second Mascherano. Besides, Barca already have a couple of young players promoted to the first team last season as backups for that position.

You say that, but whenever Keita came on the pitch his last 2 seasons, he never did what he supposedly was supposed to do.

I think 99% of people would think, Keita is coming on to give defensive stability to the midfield, more work rate and just generally more defensive ability.

It hardly ever happened, he has come on many times and we have conceded goals not long after.

Because Tito has stated that the goals for the transfer season were a CB and a LB, and that we didn't need a midfielder. Hence, he's probably going to be used a CB.

We have far more depth in the midfield than in the defense.

I think Mascherano will play more as midfielder now, and Song will be used as CB.

It's a smart move.

How many times has Song played at CB ? it's not going to work alongside two attacking fullbacks. they could just go straight for a top CB like Hummels.

40m is just too much though. Ibra's a top player and Chygrynskiy was around 25m.
