Ibra was right. Barca buy luxury cars and drive them like bangersPedram wrote:Valdes playing as sweeper, fullbacks playing as midfielders, centre backs playing as defensive midfielders, defensive midfielders playing as centre backs, 9 playing as false 9.
So much false tiki taka.

I think he means, how does it feel to actually have a well-functioning midfield with a player who doesn't go gung-ho everytime he touches the ball.
Well, it feels great and refreshing.

Re: Song to Barcelona
as a defensive midfielder he most definitely is garbage... producing one hollywood pass every two weeks doesn't make you a good player... he's indisciplined, average tackler and average dribbler at best, i don't see a single position where he would fit into barcelona's lineup and not make it worse
more of a general statement regarding the likes of cacktrao and lass...

I have never seen Bosquet attempting Long passes not even Xavi, I think he's right about Bosquet tackling.
Anyways I have a very low opinion of Bosquet..
You may have a low opinion of Busquest but your opinion of him means nothing... He is a world class player and twice the player Song is. He is one of the best players at the club.. His positional play is amazing and he is the best one touch passer there. He is also a classy dribbler with the ball and he helps us control the game. If you fail to see his qualities as a footballer then you dont get football.. Del Bosque famously said about Busquets... "If I could be any player in the world, I would like to be Sergio Busquets," and Cruyff has said "He is a gift for any coach. The speed of his passing is perfect and he is the kind of player you don't need to explain anything to. You just put him in his position and he performs." and also Xavi has described him as "fundamental". He says: "Busi sees you quickly, he always takes the simple option. He reads the game well and moves the ball with precision, in as few touches a possible."............ Now I think Del Bosque, Cruyff and Xavi know a little bit more about the game than you do, so I hope you dont mind if I value their high opinion of Busquets over your silly low one !!!!!!!

Its a stupid deal and just proves we should never have sold Yaya.... We have been crying out for a CB now for 2 seasons and Tito wastes 20mill on a sub... We have plenty of CMs .... we dont need Song... He is a good skillful def mid but not brilliant and he goes missing in the big games..... why o why do we keep making strange transfers...

Re: Song to Barcelona
As much as I liked him, his style, heck even his name was cool, he was just too much of a defensive liability. Either play him on the wings or an attacking midfielder or he causes more problems than hes worth. If we get a real DM and someone to play AM then we are a much more balanced team.
------Arteta----M'vila/Capoue
Cazorla-----Sahin-------Podolski
-------------Giroud----------------
This puts everywhere in a position where they are at their strongest. Imo Cazorla is best on the right wing. Whenever i've seen him play it seemed to me that is where he caused the most damage. A prototypical DM that will put less pressure on our backline which is not the strongest atm would help significantly. And Sahin running the offense centrally and podolski playing on the left wing will make sure we will have no issue creating chances, lots of creativity in that line up. Gervinho and Walcott are too predictable too be starters, but they are both energitic players so coming off the bench they should be very effective
We should get another striker and RB as well. HOpefully 40 million or so is enough to get all that done.

I think barca wanted to keep yaya, but to keep such a gifted player in his prime as busquets' back up is just criminal!! Yaya wanted more mins than he'd get with us.
TBF to Tito, I think he really wanted a "world class", "cheap", "prepared to be a back up" CB, but I dont think there was one out there. Agger would have cost us 25 mill at least. Hummels, d.luiz, dede etc all these guys would be about the same and for a back up , thats a lot of money. Even if world class CB were available on the market, I doubt they would have wanted to go to barca and potentially warm the bench., waiting for a player to get injured
It would have been another chygrinski. A CB who can also play in midfield is hard to find. I think j.martinez and Song were the only realistic options. Song being the better option. I think puyol, mascherano, pique, batra will do well enough. I think takng a risk with Batra is worth a shot.

Well I would like to thank Song for his service at Arsenal, hope he does well there.
As for Arsenal, if the names that are flying around sign for Arsenal I would say we'll be fine if not better.

Re: Song to Barcelona
This guy has no sense of defensive positioning.
His adventurous runs has cost us in alot of games. His hollywood passes did lead to some crucial goals, but with Cazorla now we need a proper holding midfielder.
Good luck on the bench Song

Re: Song to Barcelona
Thanks for the great memories, Song, you were one of my favorite players here. I'll never forget the great games you had for us and how you've developed, and especially that dribble + assist vs Dortmund in the CL last season.
I wish you well, but unfortunately I have a feeling you're going to have a miserable time over there.

Re: Song to Barcelona
Although I don't really understand the need for this transfer, as long as he doesn't have many defensive responsibilities I'm fine with him.
The talent is there so it's a decent depth signing I suppose, but Barcelonas squad still needs a CB imo.
