Absolutely shocking last night,it doesn't matter who was next to him.

Everything about his game was just lazy.Needs to improve ALOT that's for sure.

Romeu vs Man city. If we put him next to Mikel in a 4-2-3-1 our team would be very good if he can replicate that kind of form.

Put in a great shift in that match, he sorta just got forgotten about when he got injured which was a shame

I think he'd more be the player to replace Mikel, he's great but imo if it's 4231 it should be a one destroyer type player and one DLP like Modric, Sahin etc. Or are you saying Romeu would play the playmaker role?

that was right around the time where he was keeping Mikel out of the side, he was class every match.

I think with HazMat infront of him and either Ramires or Hulk there too we don't need a DLP, we just need a player who is capable of finding the three attackers in most situations, Romeu could do that while being more defencively stable than Lampard.

True, I'm guessing i'm more basing this off the games we should've won but didn't due to being unable to break down the opposition. It's a completly different ballgame now with Hazard and (hopefully)Hulk in the mix.

that is why I am not in favour of signing Modric. That and he is overpriced.

He is a reverse Torres and Colocini, it's his hair he let it go back and his form went .

He's played a lot of games last season especially for a 20 year old at Chelsea, it will take time for him to adapt to a pivot as opposed to his natural lone DM role, I suppose it depends on the formations 433 or 4231 etc.

For me though I'd jump at Modric at anything below £35M, if we signed him instead of Hulk I think we'd easily easily make top 2. Those games when we struggle to break down the "lower teams" would be significantly easier imo, and would increase overall consistency compared with last year.

Think whats extremely underrated about Modric is his defensive ability which stomps on Franks so hard, the 433 gives more balance for me. Ramires surging from CM is crazy as it makes so much spaces, like I remember vs Man U (CL game) and City (from the double season??) his dribbling not great but he still manages to knock it past the guy then burst through creating space and opportunity.

Then Mata and Hazard can do our Duff and Robben combo

But don't get me wrong I'd love it as well if we got Hulk instead of Modric, world beater player added to the squad and X11? Can never go wrong, strength and depth like the old days baby

mikel - ramires is way better than lampard- Mikel or Ram

He is a legend and has to play but the guy is 34 , he won't be better than this year

Lampard still has more brains than any player in Chelsea right now, he can easily command the midfield if he is given a proper formation that suits him.

No not really, that formation is really unbalanced with a real lack of players tracking back. However I would use it when we are chasing for an equaliser/going for a winner.

Ramires passing is whack lets get one thing straight lol, pivot requires at least one of the players to pass well which Lampard does to some extent. Saying Lampard can command a midfield is really really really a big call and a long shot, seeing as he's never ever been that type of player and I don't personally think he ever will.

Yes, One of Lampard, KDB or Romeu must be in the pivot or we will fail. No decent passer otherwise. Maybe Meireles but he has to improve his passing, it is crap.

Haha I wouldn't say its THAT bad he just tries silly stuff, when he first joined his passing was really refreshing and a new dimension then after a few games he just DROPPED.

Overall Romeu had a good first season at Chelsea, considering his age and playing in a new league. Decent backup DM and hope to see him improve.

There are rumors we are after Sergi Roberto.

So there are reports he has an ACL and is out for the season. Really bad news. I hope it's not true.

I am hoping it's not true as there is no official statement.
