Wouldn't want Tiote anyway. A big signing like that would lessen even further the chances of someone like Josh getting into the side permanently. As it is, he's already competing with Ramires, and Mikel, who's just signed a new 5 year contract. One more big signing and his chances of ever being a first-teamer are just about over.

It's a shame all of our CM style players are doing so well on loan, you wouldn't really want to recall.

That's the problem. Chalobah and McEachran are doing well and playing every week, and you'd hate to recall them just to have as a backup for when Ramires or Mikel need a rest, which means you'd have to go out and buy someone in. And the complications with that are that anyone brought in to fill this stopgap in the short-term could potentially complicate either of those two's chances of getting in the side later down the road. Tricky situation.

Exactly, to have somebody simply for backup it would be dumb to recall them when they'll only get a few minutes here and there.

I was mulling that idea a tad in my head as well earlier. Not sure it would work with how much he likes to....stray, although with FSW's defensive tactics, perhaps it might if he drilled it into him that runs into the opposition box every third attack can't happen anymore

Then there's also Saville, but there's no telling where he is in terms of quality just yet.

His cross field pass before the 2nd or third goal against Sunderland was an absolute beauty.

If we're not going to recall josh or chalobolah then we should bring someone in on loan-nothing permanent

McEachran will probably be recalled.

If we recall Josh it wont be that bad for him, no reason why he cant start EL games and the early rounds of the FA cup as well as getting a few apps in the league

I'd rather recall Ess than Josh, he needs regular game time.

Plus Ess has got the experience

He's started a lot of RM games, which has surprised me very much.

Although he hasn't been that beast mode, but still good to see he can compete at a high level still.

So freaking unlucky bad as Sturridge, this was his opportunity with Mikel suspended and ACON. Gutted for him, hope he can come back stronger next season.

Agreed, also Rafa has been spouting about lack of squad depth so if he stays true to his word he will see plenty of playing time.

Josh can play in the pivot or as a n.10, i say why not.
