IMO Romeu isn't suited to the double pivot and I don't think he has a future there. He thrives more in the 4-3-3 DM position.

And since we look very good in a 4-2-3-1, I think Essien & Lampard should start in the double pivot. Lampard's passing abilities is very under-rated anyways, and both Lampard and Essien have a good enough defensive understanding to be playing there. We should be pretty solid in that area with those two playing.

You have an outstanding passer in Lampard, I feel Essien's got some quality passing too, but his beastly defensive work outshines that...

Question is, with Ramires playing real good, would it be reasonable enough to throw him off?

Ramires wasn't bad when playing on the right wing, if only sturrage could move to the left and mata in the middle

Ramires would play ahead like in my homie Despiadado.Maleante's formation.

His game will be too limited in a double pivot anyways. He excels when given freedom to run.

Yeah, but you're taking away from Sturridge who works best as a LF. He's your top scorer in the attacking front, only behind Lampard in the squad.

Then again apart from scoring, Daniel is selfish and holds quite the ego. He can be dropped..

Perhaps if you didn't loan out KDB, Ramires' advanced role woulda made more sense.

I don't see why hevcan't play there. He is still young to and can adjust to it.

Don't write him off so easily.

IMO a better formation would be:
Essien Lampard
Ramires Mata Malouda
Sturridge

As useless as Torres' has been infront of goal, he's essential to the attack.

The way he takes on the defense and creates various opportunities for the team.

I think AVB sees that in him, Sturidge is selfish and always look for the shot

i agree, personaly i think romeu/ramires could become our new maka/essien

not malouda though, anyone but malouda, honestly id rather we gave someone like piazon or feruz or lalkovic a run there before we pick dead wood like malouda
