This guy plays very similar to benzema but you lot love him love him so simple minded, benzema scored 30 this season he plays like a striker should play already one of the best in Europe actually.
Anyway jovic looks good hopefully he starts right away, he plays with an high IQ and uses his strength properly, less Spanish flops in the team the better.

If anyone wants to know what 30 goals this fraud is talking about...
21 La Liga goals
4 CL goals
4 Copa Del Rey goals
1 Super Cup goal

And this is one of Benz's best goalscoring years EVER. Jovic has a better goal/90 and assist/90 as a 21 year old vs. Benz who should be at the peak of his ability.

Benz put Jovic to shame at a younger age when he was at Lyon while killing it in CL too then, not Europa.
So I wouldn't necessarily use this argument.

It's only the usual suspects who are on his fireworks bandwagon. His signing hasn't even been confirmed, yet. I don't have a strong opinion about him, as I've only watched a few Youtube clips and one match in the Europa League. I like his drive. He reminds me a bit of Carlos Tevez in that respect. He's only had one good season at the top level, though. It's not much to go by, in terms of rating him. But generally speaking, I do appreciate players like him, who show fighting spirit. Players like that tend to perform well in the big games, as well as the lesser ones. We're going to need a lot of those if we end up signing Pogba.
What's with the title of the thread? Sounds like it was made by a 10 year old, Avril Lavigne fan

"Put to shame" is hyperbole. You're making it seem as though Benz had twice as many goals. Their numbers are fairly close.
Also, I don't have a problem with young Lyon Benz. I had a problem with 5 goals a season should-be-at-the-top-of-his-game Benz

Re: Luka Jovic: Thicc boi
Different games Deez. Benzema was not only the scorer, but also a playmaker at Lyon... and he was fast.
He has more talent in his little finger than Jovic has in his whole body. That's why it's so disappointing that a) he deferred so much at Madrid, b) he didn't have more ambition & drive and c) he didn't make better decisions.
To put it in perspective, Benzema was considered a very viable candidate to become a BdO in the future. Jovic has no such talent.
Nothing wrong with that btw. I'm just saying that Benz was a phenom when he came to Madrid.

benzema was not a "phenom" lol, Mbappe is a phenom. i remember when we signed Benzema some of my friends were asking me why we signed him lol. He was very talented and he was doing some nice things for lyon but was also showing some of the same weaknesses he got criticized for in Madrid. in many ways, as the stats show, not very different from what Jovic is doing.

Re: Luka Jovic: Thicc boi
From what i've seen, Jovic is certainly not a more technically (or physically) talented player than Benzema is, and that includes build up ability and body turns/nimbleness. It does look like though like Jovic may have higher shooting, heading, and finishing ceiling, but we shall see. I can see Jovic becoming an efficient and functional player for us if he does join, but he does not light up my world as of now.

Glutes are key to athletic prowness.. for an athlete, they can't be too big or strong.
Haven't actually watched much of Jovic. I plan on watching him soon and then ill have my thoughts ready.

Re: Luka Jovic: Thicc boi
Benzema was ABSOLUTELY considered a phenom. He put those stats up at the age of 19. Different era of scoring back then too when scoring 40 goals in a season was considered historical and 30 goals amazing.
And that Lyon team was good and he had to force himself to become the main guy... he had to push aside a lot of attacking talent.
Please don't conveniently rewrite history. It drives me crazy when people do that.

Re: Luka Jovic: Thicc boi
So a year and a half older with the same stats means you don't have the talent that is in Benzema's pinky, and is the difference between a phenom and a regular old player.
Just making sure I wasn't biasing my opinion.

Re: Luka Jovic: Thicc boi
Sports may be right, because Benzema did get going at 17 and he started scoring right away. i will definitely concede that.
To Vandeez point, Jovic having similar stats in his first season is a top league is really a testament to his quality too. We will always have this debate in football, but having talent is meaningless if you can't convert that into consistent performances.

It's disgusting how hard you guys try to marginalized benzema as a player, even going back to when he was kid to tear the man down, said before and I will say it again 99% of the arguments against benzema is bullshit you guys made up.
Scores the most headers of any forward this season, rm fans we need real striker to finish off these shit crosses, scores 99% of his goals in the box but every striker on the planet is better in the box than him, he nothing without cr goes on to score more than almost all the forwards in Europe, you guys claim to hate his style but now love a lesser version of the same style because it's different somehow, also like I said before take benzema name of the jersey you all would rate him .
Anyway I like jovic good benzema understudy and replacement.

Re: Luka Jovic: Thicc boi
I never have bought into this hype about Benz! While I’ll admit I didn’t watch him nor knew of him prior to coming to Real Madrid, I did see his first game (it was in Toronto and my first outing after a heart attack and quadruple bypass) and I was impressed particularly how quick his release was, but he never did appear to me to be a phenom nor best CF. Even when he had his best years I thought he was good, not great. Obviously the past 3 or 4 years were very bad and it was good how he finally turned it around this season. In my mind it was enough for him to stay, but again it was good not great.
But back on topic, who knows how good Jovic will turn out to be, but you got to admit he has had an impressive first year. When Sports puts him down by saying “Benz has more talent in his little finger than Jovic has in his entire body”, one can’t help but think the extreme bias is shown yet again. Sports also has put down Vinicius and Rodrygo! It does appear that no one outside of France has enough talent to be worthy of Real Madrid! it would be interesting to see these three kids develop into becoming the main stays of the future Real Madrid!

Re: Luka Jovic: Thicc boi
The Benzema hype was real, I won't lie about that. Though I do disagree if we are equating young Benz hype to Mbappe.
It's all really irrelevant tbh, because Benz came to Madrid and struggled when he was competing with Higuain. So what does that say? It's about results and what you put on the pitch.
All I am saying is Jovic has shown he has the ability to perform. Will he be able to replicate his form with us? I think it is too soon to say for sure. Personally I would bet his numbers go down a bit in the first season, but if he can cut his teeth on LL + CL starting out he has every opportunity to be an important player for us down the line.
