Is Luka Modric a happy man?
Okay, it's the end of the season table that matters, but Tottenham are now 3rd, three points ahead of Chelsea and with a game in hand. Villa offered no threat whatsoever to the Spurs, who just beat them 2 - 0.
So, is Modric now happy and relieved that his fancied move to Chelsea did not happen?
On a side note: Is White Hart Lane currently 3rd best fortress in the BPL after the two Manchester clubs' stadiums and will it be that at the end of the season?

This forum hates Spurs, this won't end well
They're quite the team, though, for sure Champions League quality.

He is currently playing for a better team. Judging by his body language on the pitch, you can tell in his mind he is happy with his decision to stay.

Meh everyone's a little bit happier around Christmas time
Wait until the end of the season when Spurs are fighting Villa and QPR for 8th then we'll see how cheerful Luka is

Obviously there will be more telling games than an ailing Villa side at home ground, but this Spurs team is very balanced, no obvious weak links plus some good depth, too. They could surprise.

My thoughts exactly.
Either way I think Modric would probably be around-ish the same place on the table, but Chelsea has a lot more potential to do well in upcoming years so...meh. It won't really matter this year, but in upcoming years it might, so he still might want to move to have a more 'secure' future.
That being said, who knows where Chelsea would be with a top, top midfielder like Modric.
Go Spurs! Champions league is yours!!

Re: Is Luka Modric a happy man?
Art, their win v Fulham was and will be more telling than the match they against Chelsea.
Last season, they would have lost that match at Craven Cottage. That ability to win when your not playing well has been instilled in them by the looks of it....plus luck is with them too, which is never a bad thing.
Plus no calamity keeper in Gomez with them too, throwing away wins or draws for them....

Looking at their upcoming fixtures it's pretty likely they'll have third on lock for a good while yet.
