I think that's a common misconception. He wasn't scoring, but his attacking and defensive workrate was still incredible. Balotelli's arrival alleviated the goal burden from SES's shoulders, so SES began to contribute more to other aspects of his game. I agree that SES should've scored more in the second half of last season though. However, injury has destroyed his 2013-14 season thus far, so I think it's unfair to say that he hasn't been playing well since Jan 2013 - especially as SES was vital in the CL playoff games vs. PSV.

Firstly, congrats to Juve a job well done. Conte won the tactical battle against Garcia clearly. That aside, Juve were indeed superior to Roma last night. They reminded us why they are champions and the team to beat in the league. I could care less about how they did in the CL as that's a different monster altogether.

Secondly, I'm not disappointed that we lost. I'm disappointed at how we lost. We lost the mental battle last night. We were just like any other team that comes into that stadium after the first 15 minutes. And if we want to truly win the title, a statement needed to be made by Roma. Unfortunately, the wrong statement was made last night: Roma are not ready to challenge Juventus, let alone beat them for the title.

What most disappointed me was the behavior of our senior players. Totti and DDR, our 2 more senior players, failed to lead this side. DDR especially lost his head and deserved the multi-match ban that he has coming to him. It's unacceptable to see red like that in a match of this multitude when your team is looking to you to lead. Totti's pre-match jabbing at Juve came back to bite him in the ass as well as he could not back up his talk and was all, but snuffed out by Juve's midfield and defense. Lastly, I was disappointed with De Sanctis' comments after the game. It's a bit innocuous that Juve are the only side in Italy who were able to cut a deal and build their own stadium, thus putting them into a position to earn more money and thus build a better squad than everyone else. Let's forget about that for the moment. From what I saw of that first 15 minutes, we were better than them and had we kept our heads for the 90, this game could've remained tight enough for us to knick it. The difference was that Juve are a mentally stronger and more mature team than Roma right now. They are the all-conquering big brother of Serie A and we are the impish little brother trying to pretend we're as good as them.

As much as it pains me to say it, Roma got put in their place last night. They needed to be after so many had grown such big heads about making a scudetto run. This team is not ready for that and it showed glaringly last night. To end an unbeaten streak like that is simply embarrassing.

This CL season was a huge f*ckup.There's no other way to look at it.

Look at Man U for example who finished 2nd on GD in the league when they were bundled out by Basel and Benfica in the same year.Or Dortmund finishing as champions when they couldnt even beat Marseille in Europe.

So i guess by this logic ,Basel will challenge in  the EPL and Olympiakos will contend for the Bundesliga then.

Juve's elimination should not reflect on the state of the league in any way.

There had been fears his career could be over after he limped off during Sunday’s 1-0 win over Livorno with a right knee injury, the same knee that kept him out for two years.

However, tests have shown no damage to the anterior cruciate ligament, only a second degree lesion to the collateral medial ligament.

“It looks like a sprain with damage to the collateral ligament. We really got away with this one,” wrote Federico Pastorello on Twitter.

“In six or seven weeks he could be back on the pitch.”

Rossi will wait to give a more definitive diagnosis until he has visited specialist Professor Steadman in Colorado.

the same thing happens every season with every big club don't tell me Roma didn't had ref decisions in their favor because it will be one of the biggest lies ever, its football ppl make mistakes that's what makes football great. For example a lot of ref mistakes were in favor for Milan to and they finished 3th and got UCL while Fio didn't and so on ...
