Re: Premier League 2023/24
Fk watching that Spurs vs Man C match was so tense Haaland! But the usual suspects were key here again... especially impressed with how far Foden has come, hes definitely one of the world best players this season.
So the GD is still behind Arsenal by 1 That means a draw wouldnt be enough n Man C must beat West Ham to ensure the title right? Shouldnt have a problem, historic 4 in a row here we come~!

Is MATS being scapegoated for yet another disappointing season?

Re: Premier League 2023/24
So the EPL clubs will vote for whether or not to cancel having VAR after all the money n efforts to put it all together after how seasons its been now? Lol? What a waste of money if they do remove it? I thought ppl are used to it n most importantly its made a lot of correct decisions which would have not been overwise? Nothing is perfect but having it is better than not I thought?

I think having VAR is a lot better than not.
There's a lot of work still to be done but we shouldn't go backwards.

I wouldnt say mats specifically, plenty of blame to go around. Mostly Xavi/Laporta for mismanagement, Araujo/Cancelo for mistakes, and recently mats is catching some strays with many saying he is worse than subs in top teams like Lunin or Ortega. And also mats doesnt have a serious substitute, inaki pena isnt capable of challenging the status quo.
Can't take this club serious when they're renewing Roberto for another 2 years all the while actively pushing Roque out. I wouldnt wish such fate on my worst enemy. 40 million spent on Roque in the middle of a financial crisis too.

Another City win and honestly its beyond deserved. Countless performances carried by performance alone not last minute happenstance not decisions in abundance and not fixture fortune but ridiculous innovation of an aging team and a brilliant engine.

I never cared much for the EPL Player of the Season award, but it’s still puzzling to me that Rodri wasn’t even nominated. It would be between him and Ødegaard for me.

These awards are getting more ridiculous year after year. I stopped paying any attention.

That Foden won it only tells me that the award appeals to people with short attention spans and/or British bias. Foden has scored a few really nice goals this season, but his importance to the team isn’t anywhere close to that of Rodri, who’s a much more consistent performer, but less flashy or memorable when he doesn’t provide clutch goals. Come to think of it, Pogba also won this award a few seasons ago despite having had a shit season. It is what it is, I suppose

even a City player won it the year Liverpool ran away with the league title, tells you all you need to know about where the money that the FA backpockets comes from

Yea but it was KDB. He had 33 g/a in that season and was indeed unstoppable.
Van Dijk received the award when City won the league in 18/19 and Salah won in 17/18 but Chelsea were champions.
Last year it was Haaland, earlier KDB and Ruben Dias. You think any of those were undeserved?

Re: Premier League 2023/24
not sure who stood out for Liverpool in the title winning season, but with that big a margin you would feel it's natural one of their players get it... it certainly doesn't add up when you compare to this season, coz City haven't been as impressive as previous seasons and Foden definitely didn't stand out that much from other top performers this season...
i believe Watkins should've won it this season. Rice i would also put ahead of Foden.

If the award was given on british bias Rice would've gotten it. I stuck with Foden throughout the season so I'll do so now aswell (at least give me that_), although I do admit it was a toss up between him, Rodri, Odegaard and Watkins maybe, but the margins are thinner than you make it seem, imho. He was consistent throughout this season and very important in the title run.
I dont know why Rodri is underrated, the likes of Kante and Matic got their awards back in their day, I guess someone will always feel deceived regardless what year or season.

did no one stand out for city in 18/19 when they were champions but VVD got it?
I remember the seasons people were moaning that Hazard didnt get it. Always happens.
