How are Venezia like? is this their first ever Serie A appearance? Sound like a team that will struggle to get 20 points all season

I feel similitaries between Venezia and Spezia last year, not good names but good collective led by a capable and promising manager. It's a Paolo Zanetti's creature, manager that proved to be good in B and C even before Venezia

Not the first Serie A league for Venezia, they 've played it at least 10 times and it was relevant the period 1998-2002.

Here the top 5 cult moments of Venezia at its stadium in that period

(the Robespierre mentioned on this twitter thread is not me tbf XD)

- The incredible egoism by Pippo Inzaghi who doesn't pass twice ball to Del Piero, the ultimate hannibal CF

- Tuta . Who is him ? Basically Venezia-Bari 2-1  1998-1999 was a match fixing, both teams agreed for a tie, but Tuta didn't know it ... he scores, celebrates, but even his teammates would punch him...

________________________________________________________________________

- The BASQUE Javi Moreno, bidone at Milan (signed after that Alaves 00-01 year) finally scores a goal against  a Venezia last one at table ... and he reacts villain ho his fans who were booing ( calma, you are not Van Basten Laughing )
reacts badly towards his Milan fans

- Recoba, simply Recoba
The best player to have played for Venezia.
His year on loan at Venezia was incredible.
Venezia were destined to relegation after the first half of season. Recoba goes on loan on January.
And he changes totally alone Venezia, miracoulous salvation just thanks to him
Simply too much big for Venezia

__________________________________________________________________________

- The incredible goal by Eriberto when he was not Luciano ( story : In 2002, he was exposed as holding a fake passport which claimed he was named Eriberto Conceição da Silva, born in Rio de Janeiro on 21 January 1979. For this he was handed a six-month ban and a $145,000 fine. He assumed the identity of someone who was then his neighbor in order to join the Palmeiras youth team, as he was too old. He revealed the deception so that he could give his son his true surname )

- Bettarini .( Who cares ?. )
_____________________________

- Del Piero got injured seriously in 1999 ( his worst injury in career. He never will be back really at same levels than pre-99 )  and Juve 's forced to replace him with .. Esnaider

One of biggest Juve flops. Not by chance Juve won't even qualify to Uefa Cup after that year.
Esnaider debuts exactly at Venezia

- Collina gives two penalties in two minutes to Roma and Roma ties it after they were losing for 2-0

____________________________________________________

- Casazza  ( not even the Venezia GK starter ) saves a penalty vs Leonardo ( the current PSG director, at that time Milan trequartista ) despite he gets a bruised rip

- The amazing goal by Arturo Di Napoli in Venezia-Messina
______________________________________________________

- The incredible backheel by Maniero , just  some days after same thing (and more famous) made by Roberto Mancini, the manager campione d' Europa , in Parma- Lazio

- Insane brawl by Venezia and Torino ultras

Gianluca Busio and Tanner Tessmann will my primary reasons for watching Venezia.

Busio particularly has a lot of potential. He's not in the upper echelon of American players like Pulisic, Reyna, or McKennie, but he very well could be one day if he does well in Serie A.

I liked Busio so far for the USMNT. He can certainly play along side McKennie in a co op formation. Has alot of energy, intelligence, and composure.

Indeed not,  at all, him and his Alaves evoke  one of darkest defeats of Inter , Inter-Alaves 0-2 Uefa Cup 2001 that caused elimniation.

Public even reacted to it throwing seats on pitch at the end of match (2:14 on video)

p.s. Just realized he is not Basque LOL I've always believed this...

But well,  that's why I  associate him to that Alaves 2001.

And I repeat, it's a nightmare Laughing

Aestethically pleasing 43 minutes.

Inter playing nice football, I don't remember seeing this in my lifetime.

Really entertaining match. Love Dzeko's playstyle so much, its a shame he never played for us. His link up play and vision stoll shines through.

Sensi, Calhanoglu, Dzeko, Barella offering really nice stuff.

Kallon from Genoa looks interesting, they've had their fair share of good moves too.

For Inter its a shame they received Dzeko at 35 as in his prime v a prime Lukaku he is miles and miles ahead and its not even close. Lets not mention big matches so there isn't too too much to mourn about given Dzeko adds a lot with his vision and passes compared to Romelu.

Chievo is over: no buyer in Verona. The club ceases to exist. At their highest point they had 2 EL participations and even made it to a Champions League playoff in 2006.

Lazzari with a fantastic run and goal (Should be called for Italy alongside Calabria, instead of Di Fraudenzo)

Lazio are already showing signs of Sarriball, though Immobile is suffering greatly in this system, as well for Italy. He's uncomfortable in a 4-3-3.
