No chance Liverpool would accept that bid from Spurs. We've already seen how we treat our rivals bidding for him, and if they've just accepted a much higher sum for Bale, Ayre is going to turn around and tell them they set the market for players of that caliber. Suarez just finished a better season than Bale with a worse supporting cast, so if you think Tottenham will be able to buy him for any less than the full amount they received for Bale, you're crazy.

Keep in mind this only applies to Spurs; the 50-55m number still applies to RM, I'm sure. But I'd be shocked if they let Spurs make a 35m profit on an identical player.

Suarez was not better than Bale... let's be real here. They were similarly good. But Bale got Spurs to 5th place with Defoe/Ade and Lennon. How is that better than Coutinho and Sturridge? To boot, Suarez is not marketable at all: That is the main factor driving the price up. Madrid can actually make Bale into a marketing superstar and cash in on that. Suarez is a PR nightmare.

Coutinho and Sturridge didn't come until January. Suarez was playing alongside Downing and Sterling till then and that was his best period of the season.

Suarez was/is easily better than Bale.. let's not just argue about that. More goals and more assists for a weaker team, with all the controversy surrounding him. On the other, the media was fapping to Bale almost the entire season..

Though I agree with the marketability. Bale also has age on his side.

Bale is 24, only 2 years younger than Suarez. 24 isn't all that young.

Suarez will turn 27 by the end of this season.

Bale will be 25 at the end of the season. I'd say young is under 22/23.

2 prime year is very significant in footy.  Your prime year are between 24-29 usually.  That's 5, maybe 6 years.  

Btw, do Liverpool fans even buy Suarez jerseys even if he stays?

i would say suarez is a risky investment

He is still considerably young and is yet to reach his prime. By the time he's finished, Madrid could recover the money they've paid for him.

It's not like when RM bought Ronaldo, we was genuinely world class a high achiever and Ballon d'Or/FIFA POTY winner.

Bale isn't. Bale's had less than 2 years of exceptionable football, plays international football for a lowly side that never plays in the major international competitions and thus doesn't get additional exposure.
