Chelsea have wrapped up a €58 million deal for Napoli star Edinson Cavani.

Napoli’s official radio station, Radio Marte, made the announcement late on Monday evening.

“We have received news from a very reliable source that Napoli have sealed a deal with Chelsea for Cavani’s sale.

“Rafa Benitez has given the all-clear, but before making the move official Napoli want to secure the striker who will replace Il Matador.

“Aurelio De Laurentiis’ club will pick up around €58 million, slightly less than the the buy-out clause.

“The player will earn €8.5 million per season plus image rights.”

Man Utd held talks with Thiago's father Mazinho last Friday, offering a 5 year deal to Thiago and 6m Euros a season.

Man Utd now want to hold talks with Barcelona and they're willing to pay the 21.75m Euros release clause, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

Fiorentina still want Mario Gomez.

Corriere Fiorentino believe that there is a slight disagreement at the moment over the player’s image rights although the Viola are still €5m away from making the Champions League winner’s evaluation for the player.

They will offer up €16m-€18m for the player in an attempt to secure his services but the report suggests that they will do anything possible to try and bring Gomez to Florence.

The player himself has long since agreed to joining the Artemio Franchi outfit and has girlfriend has frequently been spotted in the Tuscan city looking around.

Great piece of business from Inter there. Belfodil could be legit if he gets the right support and system. He looked pretty damn good for Parma.

Nothing is concrete yet but it could be 10m + Cassano, Silvestre 1 year loan with option to buy = half of Belfodil with option to buy. Good of a deal for Parma and maybe Inter if they don't care about money, Silvestre might not want to come so someone else could be in his place, or money could be increased.

it's Spurs what to do you expect, they will chase overly priced players until the last hour of transfer window and then sign Gomez at the last hour

The Paulinho singing (if it happens) could turn out to be sweet for them though. Surprised Arsenal aren't going for him to be honest. If Spurs could land a solid striker along with Paulinho they could be in business next season

Paulinho is away on confed cup, he hasn't signed any contract.


Spurs have had their offer accepted and are in advanced stages but there are apparently thrid parties involved which still need to be sorted out. The deal is not finished yet.

I'm certain he only needs a medical.

They have to buy the player from the third party. That is apparently what is holding the deal up with Paulinho.

Anybody have the link of the supposed Memo Ochoa to Liverpool deal? I am reading Memo might be headed to Napoli actually

Any PL club can sign a player as long as you have the full 100% services of a player regardless if he has been in a third party in the past.

In which case I agree, why the hell aren't Spurs on Gomez like ants on candy? If he's willing to go to a non CL club, Spurs are as good as any and would pay him handsomely. He would be with no shortage of service with Lennon, Bale, Holtby, and Dembele feeding him (Lennon would actually work great in tandem with someone who can get on the end of his efforts across the box like Gomez).

As for Damiao, I'm not sure if there is still interest there or not. I'm sure there is but I don't know about any actual pursuit. The Leandro saga has gotten to the point where I can't tell if the reports are accurate or not since it's such an easy story to make up at this point: "Spurs renew interest in Damiao...blah blah saga going on for two and a half years"...it's an easy story to make up, with flowery details like AVB scouting in Brazil after he was sacked at Chelsea and Spurs working with Internacional when buying Sandro etc.

Anyway I'm pretty sure Paulinho to Spurs is a done deal.

Besides he needs playing time to make the WC 2014 squad. He's not getting that at Chelsea, or not as much as he needs.

CB, Your midfield is better than ours, he'd be a sure starter at Chelsea. He isn't so much at Spurs.

Trust me when i say that midfields like that only work on FIFA. France NT has tried it for years. What it comes down to is that you only have one player who likes to support the attack... and even he rarely makes runs into the box. The others are more possession-winning types. Good for set plays. But the forwards are too isolated in open play when you get into the final 1/3.
