It's not like when RM bought Ronaldo, we was genuinely world class a high achiever and Ballon d'Or/FIFA POTY winner.

Bale isn't. Bale's had less than 2 years of exceptionable football, plays international football for a lowly side that never plays in the major international competitions and thus doesn't get additional exposure.

Bale has been plastered on every video game cover and every EPL promo out there... he's already proven he's marketable.

As Beckham has proven, marketability is not always about being the best player. It's a lot about being appealing to the public.

Beckham was good looking and had a wife who was in the biggest girl band of the 90s.

Except for the BT sports ads, I've never seen Bale doing any commercials and most laughed when he attempted to trademark his goal celebration.

I presume you don't live here in Britain. Even Balotelli still gets more exposure and headlines than Bale does and he left in January.

How did he manage to get on the cover of both Fifa and PES?

Sports that PES one is fake the cover star hasn't been announced yet and its highly unlikely PES and FIFA will have the same cover star.

Its an interesting point though.

Bale is the cover star for Fifa in England, what happens to that if he goes to Madrid as i'm convinced Spain have a different cover star?

Also Bale was supposedly going to be the star face behind BT Sports again what happens to that if he goes to Madrid....

He could lose out on these endorsements in theory.

So he's using a fake cove to try and make a point!

Madrid is going to plaster him everywhere with Ronaldo...  even if he loses out on the UK stuff, he'll pick others worth a lot more.  

It will be very interesting if Ronaldo is going to be happy sharing Madrid with Bale because it's going to have to happen.  You don't pay 100 mil for a player and not try and throw him on every piece of merchandise that you can.

PS. I didn't know it was fake. I just googled "Bale" and "covers". I can post others if you'd like. he's in a ton of magazines.

Oh i do agree with that even if he loses out on these stuff, he's clearly going to be marketed like nobodies business.

Not this year, its someone new apparently.... rumours of Nerman but nothing concrete yet.

Madrid can try all they want. They simply won't get a return on this "investment".

ok so if bale really is cr replacement so why not get him next year? why throw off the balance of the team now, i dont think we will recoup all of bales transfer if it exceeds over 80 mil, no amount ads will do unless bale produces cr level performances or near it
