Guys if Juventus get Jovetic does that make us champions league contendors? I would say no because we still need to fix the flanks Conte's 3-5-2 formation is successfull in serie a but if we wanna compete with bayern.barca etc we need to change to a more technically superior system with 4 at the back and wide players who can use trickery and pace and can cross a ball.

Jovetic is unproven in Europe, wouldn't say he puts you over the top, but if he reaches the potential everyone thinks he is capable of then sure.

Jovetic destroyed Liverpool in CL when he was 19 years old. One of the worst offside calls of all time knocked Viola out that year. I wouldn't say he's unproven.

According to transfermarkt.de, this offer was confirmed by supervisory board chairman Clemens Tönnies at the annual general meeting of the Schalke board on Saturday. Julian Draxler turned down the offer as he wants to be assured a regular starting place (which he has at Schalke) as he wants to go to Brazil 2014 with the German NT.

Well, according to Tönnies, Draxler told him he'd stay with Schalke even though he could earn 50 mio Euros  (in 5 years) elsewhere. I don't think Tönnies has any reason to lie. The only question mark might be Draxler who might have been tempted to exaggerate, but then, there would be no real reason for Jule either as he just extended his contract with Schalke, so trying to stall contract talks isn't the issue either.

Presidents/owners and CEO have a tendency to create interest themselves that isn't there to make it look like a player stayed at a club despite being wanted by a bigger club. Italian presidents especially do it every transfer window lol

1 campaign doesn't prove anything, especially in a group with Lyon and Liverpool (who finished 3rd in the group).

What? That Lyon was Claude Puel's Lyon at it's strongest year and just after winning a Ligue 1. It was a fantastic team in it's prime with the likes of Lisandro, Juniho, a CL performing Pjanoc, Toulalon etc.

That Liverpool was the best Liverpool under Benítez, came 2nd in the PL and destroyed United twice that year.

Scrubs?

Jovetic destroyed both of them twice in a row while dominating Bayern who went through by a 20 yard offside goals. One campaign, yet but hardly scrubs.

@ Gil. Draxler is not overrated.
He is insanely overrated. Everytime I see him he is a headless chicken and limited. Has a good eye for a goal and a few neat tricks but nothing else. Has time on his side yet aside from that he isnt anywhere near Germany's best young talents.
