The Edinson Cavani saga look set to run and run this summer, with Chelsea and Paris St-Germain battling it out to sign the Uruguay international, but Napoli are refusing to drop their asking price.

Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis told Sky Sports News: "We have not had a direct offer from PSG. We don't need to sell any of our players. If someone wants to buy Cavani, they must pay 63million euros, net. Not one euro less than 63million euros."

Mario Gomez’s move to Fiorentina is starting to take shape as Bayern Munich are set to meet the Viola tonight to discuss a possible move.

Sky Sport are reporting that the Viola hope to seal the transfer quickly so they can start to prepare for the new season.

The Viola have already agreed to terms with the player on a four-year contract that will see the former Stuttgart striker earn €4.5 million a season.

With Bayern set to begin their pre-season retreat on July 4, the feeling is that the Bavarians may look to finalize a deal before then to prevent any distractions.

Fiorentina are starting to scare the hell out of me, what a team they're building ! If Rossi can find his Villareal form they will run riots on every Serie A team par Juvi

Not that i really care about co-efficients or something but teams like them strengthening would provide better competition within the league and stronger teams would mean the league would be exciting to watch.

Gomez would be some coup if they can pull it off especially for a team of their stature not to mention they arent even participating in the Champions League.

Still think Napoli are better and Milan won't stand still or stop getting penalties on a weekly basis

Considering they play with a back 3, they should improve the back 3 with 1 CB signing at least.


Also, as good as they're building atm, Aquilani is pretty shit and Claudio P has left them. He was a boss in the midfield.


They will have a better forward department, but as things stand their MF is weaker and defence is the exact same.

However, as those who leave are going to have played a whole year together already, they should be slightly stronger on the whole.

Viola really haven't strengthened as much as people think tbh. Joaquin is a very nice addition sure. but who else? If they lose JoJo, Rossi's return really wouldn't be an improvement over Jovetic.

Napoli will change to a whole new system i think.I feel it will take time to adjust to Benitez's setup imo.

And losing Cavani would essentially mean losing half the team.

New players,new coach,new setup.If Viola sign Gomez ,i would bank on them to pose a bigger threat than Napoli this year.

I don't know much about Joaquin, but where will he even play in a 3-5-2?

That is true, i'm interested to see how Napoli does actually.

As for Cavani it will be a massive blow but it shouldn't be underestimated how much 63m euros can do lol.

Hamsik is the most important player for Napoli. They'll be fine whether Cavani stays or not.

I mean to say losing Jovetic wouldnt matter much for them with Ljajic in great form and with Gomez's signing on the cards.

Gomez would be a monstrous upgrade for them.A prolific goalscorer is what they lacked last season and with Ljajic and Rossi playing behind them plus the creativity from the likes of Borja and Aquilani to go along with it,he'll score a lot of goals there.
