FC Barcelona vs AC Milan - Aftermath
Im glad with this result - you could see the difference in our approach this time. Good to see Villa. Like I said in the other topic - he did a really good job !!!! He kept 2 defenders busy at all times, this creating space. Alves kept playing on the sideline also keeping 1 defender busy, creating more space for Messi. Villa & Messi still have a great connection. Iniesta again WC. Hope Roura saw the light and keeps playing this way.

Re: FC Barcelona vs AC Milan - Aftermath
Good tactics from Barca. They had Villa in front of Messi with Alves at RW. That meant when Messi dropped team, Milan had to worry about Villa, instead of no one.

Re: FC Barcelona vs AC Milan - Aftermath
loosing to barca was milan's decision to just sit back and defend... the pass was piss poor.. and abate and constant were just piss poor...
just reminded me of last year game...
no point of finally showing willingness to play football after 3-0 down ... milan deserved to loose.. we just went out by our own mistakes..

Re: FC Barcelona vs AC Milan - Aftermath
I give more credit to Milan for how they played.
Reason the goals came was because they had no idea how to park the bus.
The ball just kept coming to Barcelona. They didnt even have to look for it.
Constant?
Ambrosini?
Niang? Need I even facepalm at this guy?
No Muntari? That was a facepalm.
Robinho made minimal difference coming on but at least offered a bit more up top.

Terrible match by Milan. Poor tactics by Allegri.
On the contrary, Barcelona were not having a bad day.
No body can say the better team isn't through.

Re: FC Barcelona vs AC Milan - Aftermath
Congratulations for the victory guys; the best team won.
Messi played as Messi for the first time in a few weeks, and we saw how much a difference that is. The gulf between the two teams was obvious.
I think this match proves how pivotal Villa is to Barca's game plan, and really shows how less dangerous Barca becomes when they don't play with actual strikers.
It also shows how much useful Xavi and Ineista becomes. I now agree with Dani completely in how Cesc ruins the shape of the team.
Fortune favors the brave most of the time, it did for us last match, but it was yours this time. Not to say that your victory was lucky or anything, just saying how in other days Niang may have scored, and how football is such a fickle sport. The fact that you overturned a two goal difference is a testament to this team's strength.
The goals were fantastic, especially the first one.
Also, I did not expect us to win this tie, and as I said before, it is Barca who would lose if they choose to. They sure looked like choosing two the last couple of weeks.
I am quite happy with our performance in the two legs, and this match shows how much experience we lack, and how our make-shift mid and defense are ultimately not up to task. We might beat any better team in a good day, but we would most likely lose.
Again, congratulations guys, I would stay and chat, but am too upset for understandable reasons.
Men of the match:
1- Messi.
2- Xavi.
3- Villa.

Re: FC Barcelona vs AC Milan - Aftermath
Abate was our best player offensively and our best defensively as well, Constant is not a left back and it shows but he can still play there against lower league table oppositions. However it's time to grow De Sciglio into a leftback.
Boateng showed against why he is a big game player with amazing passes while Montolivo showed he is one of the world's best if you disregard the first 5 minutes; highlighting his pass to Niang to hit the post.
Niang is still 18 years old, we can't hold it for his miss although Allegri should've played a more experienced player like Bojan or Robinho; preferably the later.
Barcelona fully deserved to win today, Milan were simply not decisive enough and they had their chances, time to focus on the league and continue our project.

Perhaps, but I'd still take him over Pedro.Yohan Modric wrote:3. Sell Sanchez and sign another forward.

Taking no credit away from Barcelona.
But this is a Milan team short on quality and experience who were downright poor from the first minute just to put it in simple words.

Niangs miss in the first half killed Milan's chances ffs. I sensed it right there and then.

Milan players who are worthy of wearing the colours of such a legendary team:
Niang and Bojan can stay to further develop.
Sell the rest ASAP.
