Re: Former Player: Mario Gómez
Two attributes that can miss Mario Gomez. Especially in big games. The current lieutenant through with the bosses credit. Also, because in the Champions League final against Chelsea in extra time did not have the guts to take a penalty. Arjen Robben had offered him the execution. But Gomez waved. The Dutchman failed. That it lacks the types of Bavaria with guts, is a major finding of the finale - and not a footnote of an unsatisfactory season.

Re: Former Player: Mario Gómez
Gomez was only 22 seconds on the ball in both games. He scores a goal for every 7.3s of possession.
Messi and CR7 who?

Re: Former Player: Mario Gómez
It's seriously friggen uncanny and downright creepy how exactly alike Gómez and I are in the footballing sense.
- Touches on the ball consist of:
a) Shooting
b) Setting up for a shot
c) passing the ball to the closest person because I can't do a or b
- Every now and then tackle someone in midfield/force them wide.
- Movement greatest strength
- Technically inept and bad first touch
- Every now and then surprises with a bit of technical skill that surprises everyone (including me)
- Overthinks things and thus misses sitters
- Completely invisible when team is losing
- Highly sensitive qua confidence
DAMNIT MOM, WHY DID YOU HAVE TO MEET MY STEP-DAD. IF WE HAD STAYED IN MUNICH I COULD HAVE SAVED BAYERN A RECORD TRANSFER FEE! (even though there's no telling if I would make it past C Jugend and up etc.).

Re: Former Player: Mario Gómez
Well, Schweinsteiger also injured his ankle today, so Bayern lost two key players today. (I'm watching the match vs HSV live atm and it was just reported, so no link)

Actually I think Xherdan Shaqiri will shine. If you watched the pre-season, you'll have noticed what great gem they have in him.Ganso wrote:bayern are doomed.now they will be heavily reliant on ribery, robben and muller...who arent reliable lol

Re: Former Player: Mario Gómez
Hm. Considering how well he played, it would be a sin not to start him. One has to see what Jupp Heynckes decides.Ganso wrote:will shaqiri even start though? i think just he will just be a super sub.

Re: Former Player: Mario Gómez
Shaqiri has been GREAT in pre-season, but it's only pre-season anyway if Müller gets shifted to CF, Shaqiri will get first team football. But if Gomez wont come back for a long time I see Bayern giving a try for Robin.
