Well, Gomez is easily ahead of Rooney as he does not only play well for his club, but also for the NT. And he doesn't get repeatedly red carded for petulantly kicking the opponent either. (And of course Gomez is vastly better looking )

Saying Gomez and Benz are better then Rooney is like saying Davide Moscaradelli is better then Eto.

Well, I know whom of Gomez and Rooney I'd prefer to have in my NT - and it is not Rooney.

Gomez is not even half the player Rooney is.

And what did Rooney manage to do with the English NT in the last years? Other than collect red cards, I mean...

But Gomez only started performing last year for the both club and country.

Also, the class of the German NT is far above the England NT that its not fair comparing the two based on NT performance. Bottom line is that Gomez needs to keep this up for two years before even being spoken off among the best in the game yet.

Rooneu despite my dislike for him have been performing consistently at a high level for more than five years. Gomez was a joke before last years, and best of luck, but more time is needed before accurately judging him.

Gomez has been crap for Germany until recently. The whole England team played shit so you can't just blame Rooney.

Actually Gomez was playing extremely well for Stuttgart, otherwise Bayern wouldn't have paid 30 (some sources say even 35) mio Euros for him. And it is true he only has 49 caps so far, but he scored 21 times, as opposed to Wayne Rooney who scored 28 goals in 71 games. I do compare that stat, because they are both supposed to score for their teams after all, and there Gomez has a distinct advantage.

Rooney has been one of the best players of one of the biggest club in the world for the last 6+ years. Rooney does more than just score goals. I mean are we seriously comparing them lol?

Gomez scores more goals, i dont care how more talented he is as a player the fact is Gomez does his job alot more affectively than Rooney does at that same job( I know Rooney played as an SS recently but if your going to compare them you have to compared them as CF's).......

Talent means f*ck all as far as iam concerned, if it did Quaresma would be better than Ronaldo as all thier coaches said Quaresma was more talented.....

Which is also why Higuian > Benzema etc etc
