true- by comparison he looks not up to par.. doesnt mean he is a poor goalie, has definitely made a claim the past couple seasons as one of the top keepers.

but come on, barca fans are rating him as if he is the best in the world, in this thread alone "cannot be replaced by any goalie." this is just not the case. his stats are inflated by the excellent team in front of him as well as their 80% possession.

Hey che, how can you use statistics to back up your shit on GK's? For all you know all of those easy saves valdes makes could have been shots taken under pressure or just crap shots. With barca's pressing style getting a good shot off is not easy

Funny thing is if you actually watched Valdes... You'd realise he actually rarely makes easy saves. It's usually a high-risk situation or 1v1. While most keepers get the chance to warm their hands with easy saves behind a deep-line, Valdes waits in the cold to make important saves.

Valdes is neither great or bad; he is just good enough for Barcelona's needs.

Valdes is flawed. But hes improved vastly as many mentioend already. And his strengths are very strong, some of his reflex saves and 1 on 1s are the best around...
