Re: Cyberpunk 2077
Reading Bloomberg, looks like arrogance from Witcher 3 + execs demanding 2020 release (when devs estimated the game to be ready on 2022) + plan to double dip on old gen/current gen led to this.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
Game is beyond fixing imo, CDPR should just announce Witcher 4 and pretend this never happened.

Agreed
With Geralt back preferably or just a complete new universe n characters.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
Do we get this for free ? I vaguely remember such promises were made because the game was a monumental disappointment
I loved Cyberpunk 2077 tbh. Although it would crash from time to time and difficulty was not well calibrated, about halfway through the game you could one-shot almost everyone with the tech shotgun or whatever it was called.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
Decided to give Cyberpunk 2077 another chance, and I’m hooked on it right now. It’s never going to measure up to The Witcher 3, and I’ll never forgive them for the utterly broken state that the game was released in, but it brings a smile to my face every time I notice those intricate details in the game that onl CDPR and Rockstar would even consider adding to their games. Maybe I’ll enjoy the game more, now that my hype and expectations are low.

Yeah I also loaded it back up. Started a Streetkid save and a Nomad save. Dumped a stupid amount of hours into it between the 2 of them. It's a real fun game.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
Weren't we supposed to get free DLC because the game was deemed too bad as it came out would definitely give it a try
Love this game even if back then if it was filled with bugs and freezes. Great scenario and environment, gameplay was fun. Biggest cons were a lack of life in the beautiful city it felt like being alone except for missions. Also i remember the game becoming quickly very easy even on hardest difficulty, halfway through the game you could one shot kill anyone with tech shotguns. B+ and it could be A- had the game crashed less than 30 times.

I honestly think this is perhaps the game's biggest weakness to me. This really should be a competitor to GTA online. The aesthetic screams that.
It really does feel like just me and a bunch of NPCs progressing me through a narrative and as great as the Witcher was, I felt very much the same way about that game too.
Maybe I've just been playing MMORPGs nonstop for too long a time though. I've taken that human interaction for granted, particularly when I play this game.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
Even GTA IV felt more interactive than Cyberpunk
It's little things such as road traffic, citizens walking on the sidewalk, a NPC calling you an asshole for accidently running into them... all that makes the game more enjoyable and should not be too much to ask for in 2020s
The city's design and road network was awesome, the historical background of the game was interesting and somewhat realistic. There is potential in this universe they created.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
TLDR; Supposedly, they've spent the past 3 years overhauling the entire, initial release version of the game in order to redeem themselves for the disastrous launch that the game had. Major expansions and modifications to existing features will be implemented, as well as additional content - all for free in patch 2.0.
Sounds almost too good to be true, but I'm modestly excited for it. If it's anything like how it's described, then they have reworked the game from the ground up and drastically changed the base game, all for the sake of fixing their tarnished reputation. They could've created an entirely new game with that time and resources.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
I was lucky to not have any crashes and minimal bugs in the original release in PS4 so I greatly enjoyed the game and finished it.
I would love to play this new version if I had the time, gaming is stacked at the moment though so we'll see.

The game looks pretty good on console, already. My laptop would crash in 2 seconds with these settings on

Late to the party but yea the game has massively improved since the last time i tried it in 2020. have yet to start the Phantom Liberty DLC but so far it's been great, also playing this after Starfield made me realize how much CDProjekt is better than other studios in story-telling and character building.
Made a cute V and took some nice shoots with the Photo Mode.

Just finished Phantom Liberty a week ago. The whole extension gives those old school James Bond vibes about espionage and who you can trust or not. The game is finished though and nearly perfect. It has a lot of Witcher 3 vibes to it but a bit in of a different era. It took CDPR 3 years to fix the game but they have honestly done a perfect job of it.

I also loved the credit song, very James Bond-y.

I am amazed how they managed to completely transform the game that initally was so broken and memed through infinity. If it was any other developer they would have given up years ago but somehow CDPR stuck with it and did what any other developer would have done and kept improving it.

This game has evolved a lot when it came out initally. Its not a game but an immersion
