Re: Arsenal Lobby
Per Mertesacker is far better than the critics would have you believe.
That's the verdict of Arsène Wenger nearly three months after he bolstered his back four with the Germany international.
Mertesacker has been a virtual ever-present since signing from Werder Bremen just before the transfer deadline and Wenger believes he brings qualities that have gone unrecognised.
"I feel people have been harsh in their judgement," said the manager.
"I like Per very much, because he is a very intelligent boy and reads the game very well. He has a calming influence, a commanding influence.
"Because he is so tall, sometimes if he looks less impressive in one situation, people make a definite negative judgement.
"But he grows stronger in every game and we watched him again in Germany against Holland in midweek, and he had an outstanding performance. I am really happy with him."

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Draw . But something tells me Chelsea will hammer them. But since both 3rd and the 4th spots are up for grabs, i say, a Chelsea win, draw, loss = win win win situation for us.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
So Chelsea 1-2 Liverpool. Interesting. 4 team on 22 points.
Most importantly, we are 3 points off of 3rd place. So much for a crisis.

still have to strengthen... if things stay like this fulham fc and scouse will deffo buy in january. I know we are in good form but without one or two players we look toothless going forward.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
At this rate, the January window will definitely prove to be the difference between Spurs, Chelsea, Liverpool and us. I can see Chelsea strengthening (and I certainly can't see this defensive rut of theirs continuing), Liverpool may strengthen. Spurs probably won't, knowing them.
So we can't afford to be left behind, since this form isn't going to last.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
We need to show the rivals that we are up among them!!
Bring on Abidal and Granero!!!!
lol jk
I dont know who we really need. When wilshere comes back, and Diaby (somehow) stays fit. We will have enough midfielders.
Maybe get Kaka on loan ?

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Well Gervinho and Chamakh will be gone for a month or so, and Arshavin and Rosicky are a bit unrealiable, so a winger/forward wouldn't hurt at all. Even if it's someone like Landon Donavon or Henry on loan, we just need some reliable depth up there.
Other than that, I think we'll be fine else where, barring any long term injuries.

Sad news from Turkey where it sounds like our hero Emmanuel Eboue has suffered racial abuse and a bottle being thrown at his head
