Re: Official Copa America Thread
I don't remember seeing a more poorly trained Brazil team.
I expected more from Uruguay. I think Colombia will be massive favorites.

As it runs now, Colombia seems to be the most entertaining team in the tournament. They are getting the results too. Thanks to Uruguay for sparing us from watching this boring Brazil team. Uruguay vs Columbia will be a huge game upcoming

Re: Official Copa America Thread
Argentina beat Canada 2-0 to advance to the final. Only watched highlights, and Argentina didn't really impress but did the minimum. Needs to improve again against Colombia or Uruguay. At least the final will be played in a WC-stadium with proper pitch (surface & dimension), which might help Argentina the most. Canada will also have one game still for 3rd place.
Messi became Argentina's top scorer (13) in Copa beating Batigol, and second top scorer in international football (109) in history tying Ali Daei. It's quite insane that Messi has now one goal shy of exactly double the goals since "retiring" in 2016.

Re: Official Copa America Thread
Seems too good to be true, if old Messi gets another Copa after the WC... remember it used to be so difficult to win it... this time the route seems very favourable? Canada twice, Peru, Ecuador, Chile... n its the final already?

Re: Official Copa America Thread
Argentina's route has had easier opponents, but at the same time I think they've been gimped the most with these ridiculous pitches. Final will be on proper pitch so we'll see if that will have an effect.BarcaLearning wrote: Seems too good to be true, if old Messi gets another Copa after the WC... remember it used to be so difficult to win it... this time the route seems very favourable? Uguguayans fighting with the Colombian fans after the match. I wonder how much of a ban will Nunez get, when Cantona got 9 months kicking a fan.

Di Maria retired. Legend
Also who had James as tournament MVP? My one SP fan friend told me he sucked these days but turned out he only needed a coach that believed in him.

Probably the worst held tournament ever? But this is Peak Conmebol.

Re: Official Copa America Thread
Was reading up about this. Apparently when the US hosted the 2016 Centenario cup they made about 40m, twice what they expected, as the organizers. That one was run by US Soccer and fairly well organized.
This time around Conmebol wouldn't leave that money on the table and organized it themselves. With results for all to see...
But the unfair part is that in international news the US organizations are getting all the blame.

Lautaro top scorer, Hames best player... who woulda thought
Always been a fan of Di Maria... somewhat mixed for club after Real, but for NT always brilliant.
Wonder what Messi will do if he chooses to go to next WC? I doubt it cos Arg dont seem to have enough new blood to take over, so prefer him to leave on a high...

Re: Official Copa America Thread
Also, Di Maria is the only player in history with Messi who has won everything in NT-football, including youth level. So basically completed football too.BarrileteCosmico wrote:Di Maria retired. Legend

Has won World Cup, Copa America/Euro, Olympics and Intercontinental Cup
Messi (also won WCu20)
Di Maria (also won WCu20)
From this squad Alvarez, Otamendi and Rulli can still to join this group (exluding WCu20) by winning Olympics this year.

What RM players do on the international stage does not concern me really. As long as they keep balling for RMneuro11 wrote:Yes, if that helps you sleep better after the disaster class from all of the Madrid poster boyz.

Congrats to all the Argentinian fans! It's gotta feel good to win everything after that weird, long ass drought.
I'm convinced that CONMEBOL has a humiliation kink at this point. What a bunch of fucking clowns.

It's good. Think we'll exit the WC in group stage (champions tradition) but good while it lasts.

They have about 2 brain cells between them. Their views mirrors that of their country.
Hope they all get sacked from their clubs. Scum
