Would you have taken Ashley Cole or Adebayor back?

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Cole, no! Because you can't relate his situation to Fabregas'. Cole was an absolute dickhead.
Adebayor, lol, no. he isn't good enough for us.
Point in case in fact is... Fabregas would have improved our team.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
I disagree completely with that. Can Fabregas play centre back? Can he play defensive midfield? Would his presence alone make the team more balanced and organized? The answer to those questions is "no".
Also, what would he bring to the team that we don't already get from Ramsey, Santi, Ozil and Alexis? Whether or not he's "better" is irrelevant since we've no issue creating or scoring goals.

Cesc has more assist in half season than Jack entire carrier. Cesc is better than all our midfielders. We had this conversion many times, and I know we dont need him. I believe Wenger knows he made a mistake by not bringing him back. Whats done is done, he is nothing to me anymore.
People saying, Jack has not back stab us, just wait. No loyalty in football, we Arsenal fans should know that. I used to get too attached to our players, but not anymore. I just want whats best for Arsenal.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Jay has it spot on, and if you agree with him Raptor then you know it's not about him being better than anyone and you know you can't simultaneously acknowledge that we don't need him and say Wenger made a mistake not bringing him back.
He made a mistake not signing a DM and CB earlier and if he had then we'd probably be in better shape and there wouldn't be as many complaints about Fabregas. You'll only find that the bitterness over him is at it's highest when they're doing well or we're doing super crap. And on the days that both of those things are happening...
@El, I don't think we should put our egos above the needs of the team but in Fabregas' case you had someone who forced his way out, took a paycut and was in talks with Chelsea (I'm sure Wenger knew, he even said that when they asked if he knew he'd go to Chelsea, he said he told him to do what's best for his career) and you had Wilshere who had never really gotten enough time to develop without injury hacking him down when he was getting to his best (same this season).
I don't think Wilshere, someone who came through the academy, deserves to get shipped off for someone who didn't stand by the club, someone we could do without too. And whether Jack goes on to stab us in the back is irrelevant in this case, you can't blame or punish people for things they haven't done yet. You can't be disloyal to players who are loyal to you because you think that's how the world operates now. We do have some principles and I think letting Fabregas make his own choice wasn't an exercise of them, it was just not making an extravagant and unnecessary move for someone who wouldn't fill the holes we had/have in our squad.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
I disagree with Jay. Saying things like he wouldn't fit into our team and 'he backstabbed us' is just finding rhyme to the reason. The guy can create chances like no one else in the league. *bleep* it, no one else in the world, I would say. And we couldn't have used that is what you're saying Jay, then I don't feel ashamed about disagreeing with you. With him we could have had more goals -> more games won -> more points total at this point.
But I'm not moaning or anything. What's done is done, and we work with what we've got. I'm just simply saying Fabregas would've improved our team.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Jay puts in a crucial point. If Fabregas was playing the way he were at Barcelona, nobody would have even batted an eyelid.
I have maintained since WC 2010 and the shenanigans after that Fabregas was not in the same top tier of Arsenal players for me, in terms of respect. That's not to say that I have that respect for Jack or Ramsey - they have dont nothing yet to deserve it.
I also don't get the Fabregas/Wilshere comparisons, given the different fitness and career trajectories they have been on. On talent and ceiling alone, I rate Jack pretty high, however.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
When you have Özil playing centrally and fit for a full season (he's been injured 6 months since joining us, before that he had hardly ever been injured in his whole career, plus, half the time he played with us was without Walcott and Ramsey, two of our biggest goal threats) then you erase the need for Fabregas' vision.
And the fact of the matter is, a DM and CB would have upgraded us so much more than another AM, even if you rate him higher than Özil and Cazorla, he's definitely not so much better than them to have warranted investing money that would be diverted away from bringing in a DM and CB.

Wilshere hasn't stabbed us in the back to leave yet though.
Probably because there is nobody better than us that rates him high enough. It is not like any top team in the world has ever really been knocking on Arsenals door looking at him.

Too cynical, there's been plenty of interest in the past three years, Barcelona were trying to tap him up just a couple of years ago. And I said yet anyway.
