Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
I might jump into Arcane. I know absolutely nothing about League of Legends so I'm expecting references will be lost on me though.
Anyone try Wheel of Time? I'm watching it concurrently with listening to the books on Audible (on Book 2). I'm not particularly bothered by the changes. First 3 episodes were good, but unspectacular. The 4th episode really showcased what that world all about. It's a show with loads of potential if Amazon gets a bit more brave about it. They seem so hellbent on making it the anti-GoT that it's impacting the overall quality of the writing, while also still making some of the same mistakes we saw in the latter seasons of GoT.

I watched the first 3 episodes of Arcane, I thought it was very pretty and well made but the story and characters seemed a bit too YA for my tastes. Does it get better?

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Man that might have just been the greatest Succession episode out of all the great Succession episodes. I guess it all depends on what they do with that ending at the start of the finale next Sunday. But there was just something different with this episode... how the camera lingered a bit longer and just dug deeper and deeper into the emotional horror and despair... fucking hell

Cowboy cancelled. Why do they even try to make live action anime adaptations?

I am 2 episodes in Dropsick a miniseries on Hulu about a drug company that started the opioid pandemic that has killed almost a million people and destroyed many more lives. Really great so far.
Very common in the sense that this type of corruption between corporate and the US government is very rampant.

- lmao very well written - they left a lot of room open for anything to happen and thus i saw some backstabbing coming from a mile away, especially from him
Renewed my interest as well to see how S4 will turn out.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
so i've only been able to do 3 Yellowjackets episodes so far... it feels like one of those shows that kinda just drags everything out with its mystery gimmicks by being all over the place in terms of timelines and multiple characters (a la Lost and Leftovers). And also the characterisations are just bad... they feel like 00s standard TV characters, and the drama isn't enough to hook you. No strong intriguing characters either aside from maybe Shauna.
Who else found these problems? and does it get any better?

Involved from GL hype ( especially by El Gunner) on Succession .... I've begun it yesterday
After just the first 2 episodes I can say hype is deserved.
