The TV Series Thread - Part 5
My mom lives in Switzerland and it gave me incredible headaches that I could only watch dubbed tv.
Should be outlawed really. That's how you make a total population unable to speak another language.
Can't watch liveaction in dubs.
Gonna watch Dark soon. It's weird how everyone suddenly started watching a German show though

Clay
still a fun series and a great ride overall but after that it became like Grand Theft Auto with the Sons destroying gangs in shootouts with like 2 members ffs
For me SOA is a masterpiece till to 5th season. The last two are a bit of a stretch IMO
- Spoiler:
- also because I didn't want some epilogues. Tara death was extremely sad . The last season turned around the " Tara ghost" and so it was again expecting just in last 5-6 episodes.
Moreover I don t think Juice deserved this imo. His death scene was brilliant though. Just let me finish my pie my favourite character, extremely complex, from the most joyest to most tragic. his dialouges were always brilliant imo.really appreciated his interpretation
Overally every character is described deeply and it creates empatia with the series. I am going to miss it , not idea what watching now tbh
I haven't idea if Sutter wanted to accuse the American prison regulations, but it was even more awful that we imaged it.. pervert and corrupt prison guards, nazi to buy rooms etc
Ah I forgot : JESUS CHIRST
My usual imprecation by now

From what I gathered being down there they can’t even speak their own language properly

Just started watching How to Get Away With Murder
God damn it’s absolutely bonkers
Ridiculous in the most hilarious over the top way. But that’s good. It’s unique.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Watched two episodes of 'the good doctor' in middle of a sexting session.
The cast is absolutely terrible lmao. The main character is the only decent part. Mediocre medical drama.
No medical drama will ever top House imo. Watch random episodes here n there on TV and they still get me hooked.

@Freeza - HTGAWM gets better and better. Love that show.
The Good Doctor is super average. Doogie Hauser meets House. No thanks.
Just finished Banshee. What a fun show that was.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Final season was a shame for Banshee, show went out on a whimper. I read that the budget got cut by something absurd like 95% for the last season and you could definitely tell. That said, it's one of the most underrated shows of the last decade IMO, more people need to watch it. The action scenes put a lot of Hollywood blockbusters to shame. Cool cast and setting. Super fun watch.

The roided out cop weirds me out. Feels like someone should mention his obvious abuse is a storyline at some point
Accidentally read spoilers because of google suggestions so I’m wondering if I should continue. I’m at 3x05 now

So much to watch, so little time, and I barely started Peaky Blinders, and I'm making slow progress on Mr Robot and Narcos seasons 3.

I can never binge multiple shows together, its much more efficient to binge one show at a time.

The IT Crowd is set for US remake.
I can hear the collective groan as you read that line but I’ll give this a chance after The Office.
What a brilliant little show that I don’t see much noise about here.

I'm an IT guy so I'm going to try this show regardless. The original set a really high bar though and unless it's a an Office-level hit, it won't clear it.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Freeform is readying its first-ever period drama “Cleopatra” with a writers room having been assembled to work on scripts. A casting director and line producer are now being hired in anticipation of a formal green light.
The female-centric adventure series follows the life of the most beloved ruler in Egyptian history. This tale will follow her rise and transition to becoming not only the first, last and only female pharaoh, but also the world’s most powerful person – all while engaging in a classic love triangle that changed the map of the world forever.
“Quantico” executive producer Michael Seitzman, former CBS head of drama Christina Davis, “Transformers” film producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and ABC Signature are all teaming for the project which would mark the first major Cleopatra-centered series. The character did feature in a supporting role on HBO’s “Rome”.
Combined with Villeneuve's effort coming up as well, I'm glad to see renewed interest in the ancient world.
Now we just need another Rome show.
Edit: Speaking of the Ancient World, Amazon's doing one as well based on Ancient Britain.
Looks like something the makers of Spartacus and Guy Ritchie collaborated on.

Thimmy wrote:The Punisher season 1 was pretty good. It didn't quite live up to the promise I thought it had when I first started watching it, and the last few episodes gave me the impression that the writers just wanted to wrap it up fast - but it's a pretty good show, nonetheless.
I recently started watching Iron fist. I'm halfway through the first season, and what a friggin goofy show it is. It's packed with clichés, awkward writing and a script that is pure banter at times. Not to mention, that it's lacking in any form of consistency. The protagonist could beat up 15 guys in a flash in one scene, and then struggle against one random bad guy in the next one. Every time something is at stake and he has to beat a single bad guy in order to avoid something bad happening, he inconveniently forgets that he has a fist that's capable of smashing through metal doors. Instead, he opts for a few flashy, yet extremely ineffective moves, inbetween sessions of getting pummeled by auditionist 135C. You simply just can't take this show seriously
Oh hey, CB. I see you're back from your name changing adventure
I don't watch Marvel because I don't like superhero movies but they did a decent job with Punisher. However, I share your feeling that they kinda speeded stuff up at the end to wrap up it quickly, but I don't mind cause they did not disappoint. I look forward to S2.

Watched this great British miniseries called The Honourable Woman starring Maggie Gyllenhaal. Fantastic acting with a slowly unravelling plot filled with complex characters. Available on US Netflix.

4 episodes into the Assassination of Gianni Versace
I have to say, it's been phenomenal.
Darren Criss as Cunanan has done an unreal job, and they really tell his story in depth
Penolope Cruz as Donatella Versace really looks the part, but it tough for me to hear her try an Italian, or rather Calabrese accent
