Yeah, it'll be not smart, like totally not smart to buy a RX 5700 for 400€ when RTX 3070 is twice as fast for 500€ with the newest features. I would still wait until AMD releases its new lineup, you might save even more money. Usually, GPU is the most expensive part of a build, it's worth to wait.

As mentioned before, 10GB might be obsolete very soon. There're games which go over 8 or 9GB VRAM now. Why would you shell out money for a "big" card if you can't turn up all the settings ? Nvidia left a void with intent. There's nothing inbetween, people who want more have to shell out 1499$ for RTX 3090. Like with RG, just wait for AMD release and Nvidia's counter mith more GB cards. You can choose then whatever you want.

STRIX has usually been a premium model, and on sale it seems a good value. Word on the Noise Canceling AI though. Had one experience on Twitch where streamer tested RTX Voice, and it was unbearable with weird in and out sound anomalies. It was definitely too distracting and the guy hasn't used it since. So maybe it isn't at usable level yet.

MSI Gaming is also premium. Premium mainboards use premium chipsets Very Happy

B550 is X570 chipset light.

Yeah I've MSI Gaming B450. That MSI Gaming X570 actually seems better value for just few pounds more. Although it has one disadvantage, it has chipset fan unlike the B550 Strix, which will provide more noise.

The fan is required by AMD's specifications for the X570 chipset because theoretically it can get very hot during shitloads of IO operations. In reality, the fan doesn't run until the sensors don't say alarm then it goes off again. In a load scenario CPU, PSU and GPU fans are muuuuch louder.
X570 provides better current to peripherials like GPU because it requires 12+2 power phases bar minimum.

Videocardz.com: 3080 performance 168% vs 2080 in cuda and opencl benchmarks. 40% vs 2080ti. Not as impressive as Nvidia portrayed. Going to probably hold for Big Navi annoucement, it might actually beat 3080. 80CU vs. 82SM plus 20% higher clocks. It will definitely beat Nvidia in efficiency.

Any board with the highend chipset x570 is going to be of high quality. The best brands are Gigabyte (Aorus line), MSI (Gaming Line), Asus (Rog Strix) and Asrock (Fatality line). Any of them are more than enough for your needs, choose according to the price/reviews.
About the periphery: intel Wifi is the best for bluetooth and Wifi, Asus has usually got better sound card chips, Asrock boards are made super solid to last long but not as performant as the others, Gigabyte ones are the best alrounders.

I'd just go and get the cheapest one of them in your region.

3070 is going to use 14GBs gddr6 modules and a 256bit interface. Thr bandwidth will be around 460 GBs/s vs 2080ti's 680 GB/s so for high resolutions 2080Ti might be much faster.

It's for the people who don't want to be constricted by a 7 year old technical standard and don't just play games on their machines, also prefer the input device of their choice.
To give you an idea, the PS5 GPU on release will be almost half as fast as the slowest Nvidia GPU from the Nvidia Ampere line (RTX 3070). Also from financial point of view, games on steam are much cheaper than the ones on PS5. They sell you the "cheap" console for 499$ but milk you for 7 years on every game by 15-20$ more.
From personal POV, we're interested in PCs and its possibilites, not just gaming. I often run simulations on my gaming rig, stream etc. because it's powerful. In case you didn't know, PC as of today can play any nes, gameboy, gameboy advance, sega, snes, arcade, Wii, Wii U, PS2, PSP games through emulation in higher quality than on the original consoles.
