Madness in the Scotland game. VAR gave a pen, the Scotland keeper saved it, VAR then spotted her off her line by a fraction so the pen was retaken and scored.
They've been screwed by VAR tbh.

Re: 2019 Women's World Cup
Maybe it's inexperience of the refs, but I'm not seeing many VAR decisions based on clear and obvious errors, and handball calls have been harsh. Last night, the ref didn't even add on the right amount of extra time despite a lengthy VAR break, which screwed both Scotland and Argentina in the end since both teams could have still won the game.
I can see this new rule for the keepers on penalties being changed or scrapped. In trying to prevent keepers getting an unfair advantage, they've actually handed the taker the unfair advantage instead. Keepers aren't going to save many pens if they can't take at least a little step forward for momentum.

USA are unbeatable.
Cant believe people thought Sweden had a chance.

Re: 2019 Women's World Cup
The bracket looks good, with favourites on either side.
A potential France/USA quarter-final looks very appealing.
Fully expecting England to make hard work of the lowest ranked side left in the competition.

Re: 2019 Women's World Cup
Cameroon caused some issues for the Dutch in that match from what I remember watching, but some poor finishing let them down. I think England's attack is going to overwhelm them, but they aren't too bad on the counter. England will be fine as long as they take their chances.
I like the looks of France-Brazil and Canada-Sweden. A shame 2 of them have to go, but I think it will be Brazil and Sweden.
Italy-China is going to be a very scrappy match. Italy have more quality and technique, but the Chinese are very tough to breakdown and don't give up goals easily. I love that match up for the tactical battle alone. Can't call it honestly, but I hope the Italians take care of business. They've been excellent so far.

England with the early lead vs Cameroon. Steph Houghton from an indirect free-kick after a pass back.
That'll settle the nerves, hopefully.

Re: 2019 Women's World Cup
Apparently the Cameroon players don't know how offside works. They're mad because Parris was offside when Bronze played the ball through, but Parris wasn't interfering with play at all
