He is on loan until the end of this season and then Inter will purchase him outright from us for potentially a total of 38M; which would make the hardly used, often injured Rafinha the most expensive player sold by Barca to come out of la Masia. I think the market is just going insane, everyone is going up in price.

For what it's worth I still think Rafinha could've contributed a lot to the team, but it did look like he had no future as a starter for us.

I agree. 4-1-3-2 is a fantasy formation that is hardly ever used in practice. That's why the Griezmann rumors still do not make much sense to me. He is not versatile enough to play on the wings as we can see any time he is made to play there for France. Until and unless we lose faith in Suarez I question the merits of this chase.

Can't see this happening now that we signed Coutinho, also hes a CM not a DM according to my brazilian friends.

I trust whoscored which unanimously says defensive midfielder. The line between CM and DM is really thin though, he can be a box-to-box midfielder from what I've observed during my thorough Youtube research

Not sure why we're going after him after signing Coutinho. Brazilians rate him highly so I don't really mind, but it doesn't make any sense to blow the budget on a bench warmer. Coutinho-Busquets-Paulinho seems pretty set in stone for at least 1.5 seasons.

He's listed as DM on whoscored but it appears that he's a CM.

People in Brazil rate him so he's definitely not a Douglas type player.

I've only seen him play on Youtube obviously since nobody watches the Brazilian leauge but his passing game seems superior to any midfielder we have right now (not saying much though since our midfield is garbage)

Now I'm reading he still isn't signed so perhaps this deal won't go through after all
