Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Tbh i have been blind towards Vardy because of his chavy looks and english favela upbringing
behind all of that he is a pretty decent guy.

This has to be the absolute worst, most ridiculous decision Wenger has made in his 20 year reign.

Twitter is fantastic at the moment.
I had read before from the "experts" that Wenger was going to go mental this summer. Didn't think it'd actually happen.

This signing is more like when ManU signed RVP from us that one year for 20m than anything tbh

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Couldn't you guys look at Lacazette ? Available for 30 million. Apparently Spurs have put in a cheeky bod for 24 million and Spurs don't even need a starting striker, just rotation/depth.
Not sure if Spurs should be buying for 30 million unless they plan on spending the same type of money for a CM though. If they're willing to do both I would support something around 28 plus a Ryan Mason loan imo

There is a connection, but RVP was class who showed for many years he had the talent to cut it at a top club and was actually a very good player.
Vardy is a bang average speed merchant with decent finishing.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Lyon rejected £31mil from West Ham for Lacazette recently. Seems like an obvious player we'd look at but links with him have been non-existent recently for whatever reason.
Seen lots of people compare Vardy to van Persie because of their ages when they moved, but it's only a surface-deep and kind of lazy comparison. Van Persie was a far more complete player and a genuine world class talent, Vardy isn't despite the season he had.
Also seen the theory that Vardy is just a Walcott/Welbeck replacement and that we could still sign a centre forward, but that seems wishful thinking to me. No way we're trying to sign Vardy to play on the wing (even if he might end up there anyway because lolgiroud)

Arsene has had about 200 chances to sign Lacazette. He just doesn't like him.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Arsene hasn't made any attempt to sign Lacazette because he knows Aulas will hold out for at least 40 mill which is a ridiculous price for him to be honest. If Vardy flops, we will be stuck with Giroud, Vardy and Wellbeck so no space for an upgrade

You think Giroud would put in a transfer request if Vardy takes his place in the starting team?

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
After Martial Ligue 1 clubs are going to hold any young strikers that are wanted by PL clubs for ransom. Because they know we can afford it.
And as RG said Wenger just doesn't like him for whatever reason or else we'd already have signed him

Things is though we could say the same about Morata, Lukaku, Higuain etc. No telling how well a player will do until he actually plays for us.
This'll be an unpopular opinion but Giroud is a good fall back option because he at least guarantees you around 20 goals.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Colak spent the season on loan with German second-tier side FC Kaiserslautern, scoring seven goals in 25 appearances.
I'm sold.
Also:
And according to website Soccerisma, the Gunners have been tracking the 22-year-old for some time and have now agreed personal terms.
Who the hell are Soccrisma

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Whatever happens with Vardy next season, some stupid PL club will pay atleast £10m. Maybe even Leicester themselves.
It's not a risky signing compared to £60m Lukaku or £50m Morata.

After Xhaka, if we get RicRod and Vardy, my initial reaction isn't one of tactics or judgment about whether it's a good/bad set of decisions, it's ...
I mean, damn, who would have seen this coming?
