Genuinely love Sturridge as a player. Top class forward when fit but that's the big question mark we have to consider when talking about someone that injury prone. Doubt Liverpool would sell to us even if there are murmurs of a 'rift' between him and Klopp.

Monday sees fresh claims from Germany, this time from Sport 1. They say, according to their own information, that Xhaka is on the verge of a transfer to Arsenal. They believe the price will be €30m to €40m and that Xhaka will be making his to Arsenal to play alongside other former Bundesliga stars such as Mesut Ozil and Per Mertsesacker.

The Sun ran a story that West Ham want Walcott and Arsenal are looking for £20mil+ bids.

Sounds like a case of 2+2=5 but Walcott has been linked with West Ham in the past.

I like Theo and wish him well but honestly if the fee is right it could work out well for everyone. Walcott can be one of the big fish at a club that has an opportunity to push on into consistent top 6/7 finishes.

Of course Arsenal run the risk of letting him slip away just as he finally comes good for a full season or more. But the more probable bet is that, even if West Ham consider him a success, he'll be good sometimes, lukewarm sometimes, injured sometimes, etc. In other words, both replaceable (for cheaper) and upgradeable (also arguably for cheaper).

Theo -> West Ham for 20m+
Giroud -> Wolfsburg for 15m+

Solid moves that would be good for Arsenal, good for buying clubs, and good for players too. IMO.

The Olympic Stadium for them is huge. They now have the second most season ticket holders of any english club. I expect them to spend big this summer, they are going to want to fill it. West Ham will be a bigger player going forward in the PL.

I think they might try and sign Walcott, but who knows. Part of me thinks their management is a bit smarter than that.

According to RP-Online, Arsenal have made an official bid of 43 million euros + bonuses for Granit Xhaka. An agreement is imminent. Borussia Mönchengladbach are looking to sign Rode from Bayern as replacement.

Wenger must rate the guy very highly if he's willing to spend that much on him. Either that or he's not going to mess around on fees this summer.

Admittedly I've not seen him much, but could we get away with a Xhaka-Cazorla midfield or would we need a DeeEM to partner him?

I haven't really kept an eye on him but he did have a big reputation when he was at Basle. I'd rather we go for this guy rather than someone like Kante. He looks like he can still improve and reach the next level where as Kante, this is as good as it gets for him.
