Keanu reeves must have been high when he accepted to take the lead role.

Hateful 8/10
Nothing more nothing less. Never seen a movie come out with its own accurate rating as this.

Re: The Movie House - Part 6
I don't know why it was titled the Hateful 8. There were 10 people in the inn throughout the blizzard. One of them had a very small role so say 9. Still doesn't explain why only 8 of them were hateful. ![Laughing](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_lol.gif)

Sucks that Straight Outta Compton didn't receive more noms. Leo and The Revenant about to get a bucket load of Oscars, can def see Leo finally scoop the best actor award.
Pleasantly surprised by how well received The Martian has been. Great movie and deserved imo.

Re: The Movie House - Part 6
Circle (2015)
I don't know what to make of it. It's an incredibly low budget film. Filmed 99% in one room. So low budget that the filmmakers actually started a thread on imdb asking what people thought of the film lol. Not an amateur film or anything though. Proper hollywood one
Anyways, I watched it in one sitting. Glued to the screen. It was a nice mystery thriller and you just wanted to know what the f happens in the end. Some of the choices were predictable and some not. You could see the ending coming but it was still nice to see that happen as it made sense.
It's a film which is worth your time but nothing to lose sleep over.
6.5/10

Re: The Movie House - Part 6
Regarding Oscars. So glad Mad Max dominated the categories after Revenant. Fully deserved
George Miller HAS to win the best director award. Revenant might take it though.
THis is finally Di Caprio's years. However its nice to see Matt Damon in the nominations.

Re: The Movie House - Part 6
There will be more Mad Max movies in George Miller’s future
A big stink was made two days ago over an interview Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller gave in which he was quoted as saying that he won’t make more Mad Max movies. Now that the dust has settled and the Australian filmmaker has two more Oscar nominations under his belt for the film (Best Picture, Best Director; the film itself received 10 total), he’s spoken to TheWrap and clarified the previous statement, which was in fact a misquote.
“That was a completely garbled interview. I was in New York and it was so noisy and the journalist was asking me questions on a red carpet at the National Board of Review,” he said. “She completely got the wrong fragments of information that were just not true. I said no, [another ‘Mad Max’ movie] will not be next, and she took that to mean I never wanted to make another ‘Mad Max.’ It won’t necessarily be next, but I have two more stories.”
That jibes with a statement Miller made to Studio 360 a few days ago, where he seemed open to the possibility of doing more himself.
“What happened to Max after ‘Fury Road’? What happened before ‘Fury Road’? What happened to the other characters?” Miller said. “Those stories are there — probably not as the next film but the film after. I’d like to do one of them. We’ll see. As John Lennon said, life is what happens when you’re making other plans. There are so many other directors out there. People are directing younger and younger. They’re getting a real sense of cinema very, very early. There are some great directors out there.”
Despite rumors that Warner Bros. offered Miller a stab at a Man of Steel sequel, the Australian is apparently going much smaller for his mysterious next directorial outing.
“I’ve got something a bit smaller before we go back out into the wasteland — something that’s contemporary that we can get through fairly quickly,” said Miller to Entertainment Weekly last week. “And something with not too much technical difficulty. Something more performance-based and so on, just to clear the exhaust.”

Re: The Movie House - Part 6
I'm gonna be really fuming if Leo doesn't win. Fassbender was great but nothing to make him stand out over Leo. Haven't seen Trumbo so I don't know Bryan Cranston's chances but Damon and Redmayne are just there for the numbers.
I'd say it's between Leo (70%) and Fassbender (30%).
Lubezki that 3rd consecutive Oscar though
Roger Deakins though will give him a run for his money. The cinematography in Sicario was insanely good asa well.

Just got back from Hateful 8 70mm, really euphoric experience, didn't feel like any normal movie to me.
The movie was a solid 8/10, not better than some of Tarantino's other movies imo

Dunno about that, everything i have read seems to indicate that his performance was amazing even if the film itself overall was meh.

Re: The Movie House - Part 6
Everything I've read and heard is that Alicia Vikander steals the movies from him though and that she's the real emotional centre of the film.
I think Leo will get it, the hype is real. Fassbender has the other big chance. From what I've read Fassbender has the most time to shine in his own movie and unlike Leo with Hardy and Redmayne with Vikander he doesn't get outshone by his acting partners.
Can't wait to watch them all though... The wait is awful

Re: The Movie House - Part 6
People losing their damn minds over the all-white nominees list.
Personally, I don't think this is a problem the Academy should be expected to solve. It's on the producers, directors, writers, casting companies, and studio execs to change this. There are plenty of roles out there for black/asian/hispanic/etc actors, but those roles are given to whites primarily, for one reason or another. Until that changes, we're going to continue to see all white nominee lists like this one.
Now with that said, the only black actor that legit got snubbed as far as I'm concerned is Idris Elba for Beasts of No Nation. Will Smith's awful accent ruined his performance in Concussion and Michael B. Jordan was simply overshadowed by Sly Stallone in Creed. Another actor of color that should've been nominated, but wasn't, is Benicio del Toro for Sicario. But even if those guys were nominated, who of the current 5 should make way for them?

Re: The Movie House - Part 6
Agreed with McLewis. Problem isn't the academy. It's the number of films produced without roles to qualify them. I'd venture a guess and say the likelihood of an all white nominee list is huge because it reflects the roles out there.
It's changing though. I think Star Wars could be huge in that regard, to show Hollywood producers that people don't care about race in movies, they just want good ones. Benicio should've been nominated. But I consider him white anyways, same with Oscar Isaac.
A lot of people deserved this year, but it's hard to take anyone out of the 5 nominees. Paul Dano, Oscar Isaac, Benicio, Jason Mitchell. All of them could've made a valid case. But who should you take out?
People saying Michael B. Jordan should be nominated just needs to log off Tmblr and get real. He didn't deserve it this year. And I'd probably sacrifice my first born to meet that guy, but even I can't be that biased
