Biden has to be the most stereotypical politician meme that can exist. Politicians lie etc but this man is bad faith to another leave and collectively leaves the side of black people, minorities to even his own supporters, insulted and degraded without truly being aware of it.

Trump's handlers couldn't control him. Biden's handlers think they're cooking, but are just straight up tone deaf.
With better handlers, Biden would be in better shape.

Would be epic if he is running out of jail and wins
Could he then pardon himself?

Trump still needs to be convicted of stealing classified documents, interfering in the election process and inciting an insurrection, the latter being a grave sin against democracy.
And I'm not even going to mention his shady business practices and sexual assault allegations because I dont have enough paper for that

Re: The US Politics Thread
The classified documents case is a straight up slam dunk for the prosecution, but they have the misfortune of it landing in the court of a Trump appointed judge who is determined to jam it up.
The Election interference case in Georgia is also a slam dunk yet there's still calls for the prosecutor to be thrown off the case because of a relationship she had with one of the lawyers on her team, who has already recused himself. A judge had already decided that she did nothing wrong legally and could remain on the case, but the Trump legal team continue to throw more and more obstacles in the way.
And the Insurrection case is pretty much up to SCOTUS, who are unlikely to rule against Trump given he seated 3 of them.
So when it's all said and done, he really should get convicted in 3 of these 4 cases.
If he wins in November, all of these cases are likely to go away though. His DOJ will kill them all.

Georgia is not a federal case though, so no self pardon and DOJ won't be able to squash it.

I stand corrected, but the sentiment remains the same. Trump may not be able to kill that one directly through his DOJ, but he would most certainly exert pressure on state government with his restored presidential power. And they'd cave to him because jellyfish have stronger spines than Republicans.

Trump was more adversarial to Russia than Obama and Bush.
Trump politics align with the establishment; his sounbites and such is a distraction. Biggest compliment i can give Trump he is a great marketer.
Trump is corrupt, so is Biden and many seasoned politician.

Hunter Biden convicted on 3 felony gun charges.
Good. And this has broken the stupid right-wing narrative that the justice system is rigged in Biden's favor. Either the man truly believes in the justice system of this country (I don't) or he's Machiavellian enough to serve up his own son to the system to remain politically above the fray. I believe it's the former.

This debate is fucking horrible.
Biden looks every bit his age. Trump won't answer any questions he's asked. The moderators are not fact-checking anything and are just letting lies be told.
This well and truly is a crisis of leadership.

I am so angry the DNC screwed Bernie twice. We could’ve had a man with integrity and for the people, but greed won.

If Biden remains, Trump will be president again.
Seems like the Dems are considering moving him aside.
I think it's going to be a wild ride until January.

We may very well be looking at an open Democratic convention. I'll need to look up the last time that's happened. Feels like it's been well over 150 years.

Another 80+ white man is not the answer honestly. I've never considered myself a Bernie supporter, but my political outlook sits in his wing of the party. It's a case of his message being the right one, but he being the wrong person to carry it.

Re: The US Politics Thread
Trump was still awful imo, the only advantage he has is that he appears younger but still keeps lying and spewing nonsense as always
Both choices are bad for America, from our POV trump may not be that bad because
1. we are not a shithole country ( as he describes it)
2. We pay 4% of gdp on defense
3. he seems to like us
4. criticized Germany a lot for their gas pipeline dealings with Russia
Although, there is a threat of him cutting funding to Ukraine but that seems to me like mostly a campaign shtick

Kamala Harris, as the current VP, would be the presumptive successor.
There's also California Governor Gavin Newsome, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
I think those are the likely field of potential alternatives.

I believe he truly would cut Ukraine funding if those around him convince him it's within his (and only his) best interest to do so.
