Re: Official Copa America Thread
Damn the pitches seem to be truly awful state. How are they gonna fix that for WC if they still play in NFL-stadiums, and can't get an extended time to lay them? At least Argentina will play the next two matches in a "better" pitch.
Canada could eliminate both Chile and Peru.

Re: Official Copa America Thread
Doubt that's it. Rodrygo plays so much better for Brazil than he does for RM. With Vini it's the other way round. Not sure what's wrong there given I don't watch Brazil that often. Militao is Militao he'll play the same for RM as Brazil. Can drop Pepesque performances but also Maguire level performances.neuro11 wrote:May be they are tired or lack motivation winning things....
Brazil is filled with players from the likes of Newcastle, Wolves, West Ham thinking they are all stars.
They don't play around one player like they used to with Neymar but everyone wants to be an alpha. And this is the result

Re: Official Copa America Thread
The US is in a very tricky situation for the Uruguay game. Panama will face off a Bolivia that is terrible and already beaten. Uruguay have been playing well beyond expectations for a team going through a generational renewal.
Weah let the team down. But on the plus side if they get kicked out in groups no way Gregg keeps his job?

He must've placed a bet for under2.5 goals or something because that run-up was comical and the finish was shocking

Harry Kane (minus the miss in the 22 WC vs France) and Frank Lampard are my all-time favourite penalty takers...

Vini complaining about the ref after getting 2 pens and a red card in their favor. You're not in Madrid any more

Referee ignored alot of the fouls against him though so I understand him. Felt abit like watching LL referees. He needs to cut out the dissent though as he will rack up yellow cards with the new rule on only captains allowed to approach the refereeBarrileteCosmico wrote:Vini complaining about the ref after getting 2 pens and a red card in their favor. Is that rule going to be in place for ligas? It was only introduced for these Euros. I do hope it does because it stops all the whining, complaining and ref crowding, which is worse in la liga than anywhere else.

Re: Official Copa America Thread
I actually prefer copa and AFCON to Euros. Games are way more exciting and intense. I do think they're filmed differently though, you sense the atmospheremuch more than euros IMO. I'd say copa and AFCON are the closest to street ball you'll see professionallyBarcaLearning wrote:Dont watch Copa.. but curious as to the level n entertainment value vs the Euros? Re: Official Copa America Thread
@hala but that's kind of the point. He's no longer in la liga where some shoves are yellows and players are protected. He's playing against South American teams with South American refs, and needs to adjust rather than complain

Re: Official Copa America Thread
Vini urgently needs more goals for his country. Thats my only concern but the attitude is still the same to a club and country. I can forsee him maturing in a few seasons or so.

Ecuador really gave Argentina a proper run for their money today. Oof. Enner Valencia may have a sleepless night tonight, no bueno at all.

Re: Official Copa America Thread
As for Vini, while it was a PK, he needs to toughen up as he is playing CONMEBOL football. He is not gonna get half the calls he'll get in Europe and that's fine. Shit, I love it that way (pure bias as I am from that side of the world).
As Clutch mentioned, if Messi could take it, Vini has no real excuse.

Martinez is a cheat code. I wonder what BS rule FIFA will come up next to try to nerf the dude.
As for Brasil x Colombia, it doesn't really make much difference if we lose to Uruguay in the quarters or the semis.
