not a fair rank coz they are different types of players...
Lampard, more in the mold of a 10... forward thinking player, good link up player with players around him, great knack for arriving into good positions at the right time to score goals both inside and outside the box

Gerrard more in the mold of a 8... box to box, midfield engine, hustle player... technically underrated, could score, could assist... very good vision... best leader of the bunch by far... Istanbul 2005 will forever be GOATed and he was the biggest reason for it.

Scholes more in the mold of what Italians call a regista... a 6 that playmakes from the base of the midfield, rather than being an intelligent intercepter (Busquets) or defensive destroyer (Makelele). Had everything in his locker though, so he could also pass as an 8 or 10 if called upon. Technically the best of the 3. Loyal teammate, hardworker.

in terms of legacy i would rank them:
1. Gerrard (leadership)
2. Lampard (insane goal scoring record for a midfielder)
3. Scholes

in terms of pound-for-pound skill level:
1. Scholes
2. Gerrard
3. Lampard

cause England coach always play around with these 3,

I think it's fair. All played the same position or at least very similar, and played in and around the same era. It's a fair comparison to be made. I don't think it's the sole reason to blame for England not winning in its golden generation. Nobody really stepped up like that for England
