I actually liked it a lot, but I can't really discuss it on the internet. You guys are cool, but, oh boy, anyone look at the IMDb page for Force Awakens?
It's like 90% insecure boys in puberty yelling about how women can't be heroes, or role models, and how much they hated the black people and latinos being in there. Holy shit am I feeling embarassed for being a white male right now.

Yea lol. Saw a thread saying "star wars is for boys as twilight is for girls, so why is the main character for 'our' franchise a female?"

redemption story for Ben Solo
- Spoiler:
- Hidalgo (one of the canon heads) keeps denying the plagueis theory on Twitter. But I can't see who else Snoke should be. The rule of two is canon and the two siths died in Jedi. So unless he didn't die of revived himself, he is sooo damaged tbf, I can't see how the sith are still alive and well. Also seen so many interviews with the cast where they react very suspicious when asked about Plagueis, which makes me really believe it. Daisy Ridey in particular seemed to know the character. She isn't even a Star Wars fan, as she's expressed a bunch of times
Benicio Del Toro for ep 8. Could he possibly be grand admiral thrawn?
Regarding the next two
- Spoiler:
- It could be a Kylo redemption story. But it all depends on how powerful they make Benicio Del Toros villain. Given how powerful Luke quite possibly have become, while Snoke/Plagueis seems dying due to damage.

Imdb forums are cancerous to have discussions about such things.
I'd recommend the StarWars subreddit, which seems to be very respectful towards all these things.
I don't feel embarrassed by being a white male tbh. I feel embarrassed for people who are so small minded that can't enjoy people of different races or other genders flourishing in a movie.
I don't care at all what gender or race the main character is, I care about their character. I love Boyega and Ridley's personalities, and their talents as actors, both attributes shine through in this film.
Also speaking of this... I've seen sooooo many of these bigoted people ranting about every new good character being a person of color or a woman. Every single important character except Leia was a white male, Luke, Anakin, Han, Obi-Wan, Palpatine. Fans of Star Wars are all races, genders and personalities, so it's good for the universe to finally represent that.

I'm not sure exactly what should be spoilered and what is vague enough to be unnecessary so I'll be erring on the side of caution

- Spoiler:
- General Hux gets killed off or otherwise replaced.
From the language used and dialogue it seems pretty clear that Kylo Ren
- Spoiler:
- isn't actually a Sith Lord yet. I wonder if, now that he's "proven himself" by killing his father Han, he'll become a "Darth" by finishing his training under Snoke in or before the next film. Thus he'll be the true Darth Vader-type threat before ultimately coming full circle and redeeming himself in the final fight, perhaps even in a self-sacrifice moment to truly bring the Vader ties full circle.

Hux
- Spoiler:
- I don't really know how high his rank is though. He's a general. But there must be a higher ranking official. It might be somewhat too much, but you don't cast Benicio Del Toro for a small role as a villain... Well, unless you're Disne.... oh.

Re: Star Wars – Official Canon Thread. - RIP Carrie Fisher
- Spoiler:
- It was obvious Kylo Ren wasn't that thoroughly trained yet, he was strong AF in the force, because he turned to the Dark Side, that's always a short cut to hard and fast power, but he was lacking in finesse in his light saber combat, and in the end let himself get shot by a freakin Wookie Bolt Caster, I believe the thing is called, so no wonder he got his ass handed to him by Rey, who has a very instinctive connection to the force, and unlike Luke had in the OT, had actually heard of the Jedi, so she at least knew what to aspire to.

Am I the only one who never really was into Star Wars? I don't think I've ever watched a full SW movie.

I was the same before a month or so. Watched E4 and got so hooked that I even watched the prequels despite people warning me not to. Never too late bro.
