I'll end you.
Nah can actually understand you. Still liked the movie but can understand why people wouldn't as it has some big flaws imo.

Just watched it.
It's great IMO.
I'll mention most of the criticisms i have seen online.

- Spoiler:
- I have seen people criticising the characters and the pacing? Firstly all the characters were great IMO, you can't really compare to a normal Star Wars film as it's a short standalone story by comparison but i liked almost all of them.
The lead female was awesome, as was the droid who was *bleep* hilarious. I even grew to like the guy with them both as the film grew on.
Really enjoyed all the other characters as well tbh, Madds was great for what he was as was Donnie Yen and pretty much everyone else.
I subconsciously liked it when Tarkin blew them all up i think mainly because it made it really hit home how it was a self contained story and i really liked that about it all.
Also that Vader scene they handled everything with him perfectly.
As for the pacing criticism i'm seeing, i really don't understand that either. But the people saying that probably think New Hope is amazing despite that being ridden with pacing issues so i guess i should probably ignore it.

I will judge again tomorrow. Did you see in 3D or 2D. May have been because I've watched in 3D IMAX

Yea like I said in my review, I didn't know he was CGI till I read it after the film. It was not apparent at all for me. (2D)

I'm also 99% sure that it'll be unwatchable in 10 years. This is what I fear the most.

Watched in 3D and you could immediately realize that something was very off.
For some reason I didn't consider CGI so every time he was on screen I wondered why he looked so strange only finally got it when I saw the CGI-woman.

I can report back tomorrow if it makes any difference. Usually I'd still go for 2D unless it's not possible in IMAX.

That Vader scene man. Can you imagine how good Luke must have been to take him on? Makes you think.
And the fact Vader probably toyed with Obi Wan.
- Spoiler:
- Vadar was emotionally compromised at that point tbf, if luke wasn't his son he'd have quickscoped his ass imo. If Sith don't have the negative emotions to draw on they suck.

Re: Star Wars – Official Canon Thread. - RIP Carrie Fisher
Great movie. One of the better Star Wars film for me. It honestly makes episode 4 a LOT better imo.
I always had a major complaint that episode 4 did basically nothing to make me care about beating the empire. Luke and Han do 0 justice to their cause, with Han it makes sense, but Luke just seems like he is fighting the empire just because its something to do. It all seemed a bit weak and just adventuring for the sake of adventuring.
Rogue One is legit though. Without spoiling it, I'll say it does a great job in showing how the empire is shitting on everyone and how the rebels have lost everything (family, friends, etc.) to them. Seeing some scenes with the death star you get a great sense of urgency to their mission.
It actually made me care about their mission much more than Episode 4 ever did. Watching this first it makes Luke's and co. actions much more urgent and seemingly important. Really makes me wanna watch Ep 4 again.

Re: Star Wars – Official Canon Thread. - RIP Carrie Fisher
- Spoiler:
- Vader that corridor scene was GOAT.
The robot was brilliant, his banter spoke to me on a spiritual level, and I won't lie I massively sympathised with Krennic throughout the entire film. Gets put in charge of the project to end all projects, executes it very well and Tarkin (Solid decision to add him imo, if CGI becomes too dated they can re-master it and sell more dvds ) comes up outta nowhere and snakes it from him, and the only person he can turn to is a constantly in pain tormented Vader
Loved the suicide mission feel to it and how the characters started dropping like flies. Makes you have a whole new respect for the death star seeing it loom over a planet and create absolute desolation agree with Rincon it makes episode 4 much more urgent feeling. Love those fish generals Admiral Akbar has always been banter the admiral in this one was a lad too. thought character development was great, Felicity Jones nailed it imo

Re: Star Wars – Official Canon Thread. - RIP Carrie Fisher
- Spoiler:
Felt so bad for Krennic ffs. Guy was a hero of the empire. MVP getting sister abigailed by his own creation after getting injured in combat.
I thought he'd be a generic bad guy tactician who runs away from combat but he had the balls to get his hands dirty and even confront Vader, even if he was shitting himself need more lads like him in the Empire.

- Spoiler:
- Such good banter for a lad who just got out of a healing tank because he's burned from head to toe and can't breath. Lad.
And Vader living on the planet where he K.O'd his own pregnant wife with a force choke and got dismembered by his master and friend. Guy gives no shits
