The 20s bit doesn't effect the theory lol. And it's not that outlandish tbh, I dunno what you're on about. She had a few visions of the history of her (Anakin's) saber and the rest could feasibly be of the future (Kylo Ren slaughtering people). And there are quite a few hints, the fact that she's so good at fixing things, that it focuses on her breathing when she's about to beat Kylo, even the line "I have seen the same eyes in different people" means a lot more if she's Anakin rather than Luke. And Daisy Ridley did say the planet she was on at the beginning of the movie had something to do with her background. Sand=Anakin hmm

Anyway like Mole said it's never gonna happen, just a fun theory to think about.

Sand = Anakin is one hell us bullshit conclusion. Sand = Skywalkers is more like it. All Skywalkers have the same attributes in the series. Unrealisticly gifted in the force, great language skills, great at flying and repairing stuff. None of these things are unique to Anakin. They're unique to the Skywalker DNA.

Also, it's obvious she's reffering to more than a single person with the commment anyways. Which again, would then refer to the Skywalker family, where she has seen all 2 Skywalkers (3 if you count Leia). Kylo wasn't really explained like that yet, but he's obviously very force sensitive.

The trailer voice over that was altered from ROTJ also gives an indication that Rey indeed is Luke's kid. "The force is strong in my family. My father has it, I have it, my sister has it. You have that power too". You have that power too, was the first thing said in ROTJ and the last in this trailer, which shows a clear altering of this line. This line is altered to meta-communicate something about the film, like all trailers did.

Anyways, these theories are never though about in real movie logic. How would they even begin to explain this? The theory about Anakin's birth is that Plagueis is his father who altered the force to create the ultimate force user. To explain Rey being Anakin would take too much time and muddle the story. Anakin's birth would've had to be explained. Plagueis would've had to be explained and his surviving of Palpatine's attack would have to be explained. Then lastly they would have to introduce something as reincarnation, which to my knowledge hasn't got any precedence in the Star Wars universe (I could be wrong about that though).

So here's some more theories on Rey's origins that i came across

-Luke's daughter: The most predictable choice, but would still create some intriguing possibilities

-Solo's daughter: Highly unlikely since Solo didnt recognize her. Leia could've had her after she and Solo were separated and she kept her a secret coz the dark side and Ben bla bla

-Rey Kanobi: She could be Obi Wan's grand daughter, British accent and all

-Snoke/plagueis's daughter: For this to make sense Snoke has to be plagueis. She's connected to the skywalkers since plagueis was the one who created Anniken (i think it's cannon not sure though)

I'm pretty sure she is Luke's daughter. Disney just flat out came out and said before the film that the Star Wars saga will always center around the Skywalker family so it is quite obvious that the protagonist is a Skywalker.

Tbh Rey's origin is beginning to bug me. There were a few hints I didn't catch before that seem to contradict the popular she was Luke's daughter/student theory. Kylo Ren for example when talking to Snoke says she's "untrained but stronger than she knows". But from his reaction to the officer telling him a girl saved the droid I had thought he had known/trained with Rey. Why does he say she's untrained then?

And her visions also don't seem to make much sense. At first I thought it was places the lightsaber has been, which was why it showed cloud city and Luke at the temple, but there's also the shot of her being dropped off at Jakku. Where was the lightsaber then? With the shot of her as a kid and the vision of the future of her fight with Kylo Ren in the forest, you would think they were just critical parts of her life, but then why cloud city? I just don't understand the common theme in all of the shots.

It's a very intriguing mystery tbh. She could still be Luke's daughter and/or student but there's something missing no one's figured out yet. Just hope they resolve it well.

The story doesn't really lend it self to much else at the moment. She's the perfect age for it. She fits Mark Hamill in age. I can't see her as a villain either, she has a way to gentle face and demeanor. She has acting ability to a lot of different things though.

Mon Mothma would be like 90 if she's still alive, so doubt it's her. Some kind of politician. Rey's mom is my best guess though.

Also should spoilers be open talk in this thread now?

And that theory makes no sense whatsoever. Has there even been a reinkarnation in Star Wars? Doubt it works like that at all. The Obi-Wan thing is also weird. Laura Dern could be Obi-Wan's daughter who got a daughter with Luke.

I just think Luke is the only real person that could be her father, because it's the only thing that wouldn't confuse the audience.
