Toulouse chairman Olivier Sadran has reportedly told chasing clubs that they will have to match the £8.6million offer from Cardiff City for powerhouse Etienne Capoue if they want to nail down his services.

Midfielder Capoue has been linked with a move to English football for some time and Queens Park Rangers are rumoured to have had an offer for him rejected in January.

Sadran recently admitted that he would be prepared to let the 25-year-old leave for the right price, and reports in France now claim a transfer fee has been agreed worth €10million plus add-ons.

It is also reported that Capoue is hesitating over his future as he expected a contract with one of Europe’s top sides.

“Now the clubs interested in Etienne have to know we will not accept any offer inferior to the one from Cardiff,” Sadran said in L’Equipe. (Sky Sports)

With Gustavo and Ginter out,we should get Capoue and for 8.6mio,it's an absolute steal.

First because one player cannot carry a whole team. I thought you knew that Mole. Second, our crap record against top 10 was only in the first half of the season where Assaidi, 17 year old Sterling, and Suso were playing inside forwards next to Luis, Downing was worse than a stationary cone, and Lucas was out injured.

It makes me sad that Jovetic went to City. And not for an exorbitant fee, either. He's a player I've liked & wanted at Arsenal for a few years now.

That said, the players Wenger seems to be after are all better than Bon Jovi is right now. Jovetic is excellent and a pro but he's still not quite the finished article and he's never been a huge goalscorer. Rooney or (on a pure footballing level) Suarez would both be better acquisitions. If we can pull it off.

I still think Higuain would have been awesome too.

I don't think we're gonna sign Suarez nor Rooney. Arsenal has never paid this type of money before and never will. The only way we will spend 25m on a player if united forces us to activate the buy back clause fabregas. But I still think that we can be very productive in the market, and actually strengthen our squad and challenge for silverware. We need a DM, Capoue, kondogbia, Gustavo all financially realistic. We need a CB Rami, Zouma someone that can provide decent rotation , as far as strikers are concerned we really should go for Luis Muriel if not buy Bernard then Podolski and Giroud can share the burden upfront. I think we need to act fast so the complete squad can gel in time for the start of the season...

When Cavani was moving to PSG, we were in for Higuain - until Real decided to change his price from £22m to £32m.
