Yes he did.
But he also rejected Chelsea

Why does that matter? Not like I was taking a shot at Liverpool or anything.

Re: Reports: Dalglish out/leaving Liverpool
Rodgers, De Boer, and Klopp have rejected our interest in them so far.
Rafa and Laudrup are the only two to actually voice their interest in taking the job.
AVB and Martinez are rumored to be the only two that have been scheduled to be interviewed for the job
And Guardiola

Re: Reports: Dalglish out/leaving Liverpool
I'm starting to worry that our owners' lack of knowledge and experience in football may show here. It was Comolli and Dalglish who brought a handful of our First XI players in. If we now get a totally different type of manager - like Nick said, a tiki-taka guy - the problem might be that our players aren't really cut for his style. We'll see.

Can't see AVB making the same mistake he did with Chelsea.

One thing that worries me is that whoever is advising our owners might not have our clubs best interest at heart, so we don't know what kind of bullshite their putting in their heads.

Ian Ayre is the guy who is in charge as far as i know. He said winning FA cup wouldnt have a made a difference as missing out of CL was a hard blow in terms of revenue.
“I’m the person here responsible for running the football club. I welcome that challenge and I’ll do the best job I can do,” Ayre said.
“What’s important is we’ve got the right structure to run the club in the right way. One of the announcements we will make in the next week or so will be about someone working with me to continue delivering the important revenue streams.
“We’ve done very well in growing our revenue in the last four or five years but it’s important to keep building on it.”
It was revenue streams which ultimately proved Dalglish’s undoing. Despite winning the Carling Cup and reaching the FA Cup final, the Reds’ failure to finish in the top four in the Premier League meant the club missed out on a potential windfall of around £40million from Champions League qualification.
“It was a very simple decision based on results and did we believe that was going to change,” Ayre said. “To be 37 points off the winner, 17 points off fourth, 14 losses…..
“Winning the FA Cup wouldn’t have made any difference – it was never about an individual result. It was always about taking a review of the season in full.
Re: Reports: Dalglish out/leaving Liverpool
Ayre is the Managing Director at Liverpool. He's basically the go between for the footballing side of things, the commercial side, and the CEO/owners. He's not actually making the decisions (at least not alone) on who stays, who goes, and who comes in.

Re: Reports: Dalglish out/leaving Liverpool
A question: Do Liverpool fans generally get the feeling/idea that FSG are very active in the running of the club? Or are they just the owners and you have an executive board who is doing most of the leg work here?

Yeah, they are active. They have invested in players, they're changing a lot of key personel after a disappointing season and looking to realize their own vision for the club. They are active; hopefully they're good at what they do, too. We'll see.

Re: Reports: Dalglish out/leaving Liverpool
Right now, they are active out of necessity, but that's not necessarily their style. If you look into the structure they are planning on implementing, it's one that removes them from the immediate decision making surrounding the club. They want a DoF (or similarly titled role) that will over see footballing matters and then a manager (probably more similar to a coach) to take care of tactics and squad selection. They've only been active and involved recently due to what they've seen as a drastic underachievement. They set a goal, and that goal was not reached or even truly challenged for after February. As a result they've intervened to try to correct the course of the club.BhritanniaBhlue wrote:A question: Do Liverpool fans generally get the feeling/idea that FSG are very active in the running of the club? I don't think they want to be this involved in the club's day-to-day activities, but they see it as a necessity at this point. In the future, I think you will see a more dominant personality/decision maker in the DoF position who will be making the majority of the oversight decisions for the club.

Re: Reports: Dalglish out/leaving Liverpool
They seem to be very involved in setting up their vision for the club, at least at board room level. I do not believe they are/will be involved in the signing of players, but in terms of bringing about an evolution (or revolution, considering the drastic measures) at the management and upper levels they have taken a strong stance.

Not a great fit to me.
Though, at least the players should be open to listening.
Van Gaal is a s.o.b, but I have to admit, he does know talent.

AVB is gonna come back a force to repair his damaged rep but the bigger coup here is Van Gaal.
