There is no feeling be it as a supporter or as a player, better than standing in the podium with a medal around your neck. Football is about winning....and just a massive shame that money has ruined what football used to be about. History remember winners, and nothing else.

Being on the podium is a drug. Having a medal put round your neck and running round a stadium with the Cup is addictive. I had the privilege to do it lots of times in my career and never got bored. People ask: ‘What was the best night of your life?’. I’ve had around 14 best nights in my life, always after winning a cup. It is those moments that draw teams closer and create the team spirit to go on and win more.

I always find it hilarious when barca fans mocked us last season after we whooped them to win the Copa, mickey mouse trophy they said. Yet, their own team are fighting like dogs to get those mickey mouse cups every season, beating down the likes of Santos as if they are playing Utd.

Winning is a drug, doesnt matter how small the trophy (unless it's preseason), when you see your team up there with gold, you have a banana smile, you jump around, and then you log on to goallegacy to troll some more.

Congratz to Pool, their rather dry season became pretty good overnight.

The Copa is a mickymouse trophy, if thats all the team can manage its nothing special..unless your Sociedad or something.

Yeah, its good to have, but so is a pizza...big woop.

And I dont agree football is about titles. Its part of it for sure, its the reason you play and when you win something good its a great feeling.

But football is also about lots of other things, entertaining your fans being a big one.

For many clubs, they just dont have the chance to win titles, so try telling say the Hurcules players when they beat Barca 2-0 that football is about titles.

Its also not true football only remembers winners, thats very false.

I agree Copa and FA cups are micky mous cups indeed and i dont rate them.Carling cup even far worse.

But beating Barca was what it made a such a joyful event. Denying a treble i must add.

Wining Copa is harder than wining the CL.

in 20 years, History will only remember winners. I can't see Herculos players pouring champagne on each others head, or dancing naked on the ground for numerous minutes after beating Barca.
I am sure they were happier when they won the promotion.

I have. I've been to stadiums of 120K people. and a Cup final. Maybe that's why I love Cup finals and the atmosphere they create and trophy presentation.

You cant compare Birmingham with Liverpool who have won everything before.

TBF Sepi, 2nd division championship isnt the same as winning a national cup, league or a european competition......

I did enjoy it tho, we got 100+ points i wanna get relegated again

So is every countries cups.Copa del rey is known as kings cup and it is historically important but compared to league or a CL its indeed a micky mouse cup .

Copa Del Rey is between CC and FA cup in terms of importance.

Every spanish player who came to england said Copa is basically meaningless....

It's not even a comparison ffs, every english kid dreams of going to wembley and scoring the winner and lifting the FA Cup infront of thier friends and family.

City won FA cup last year,no body portrayed that as a huge successful season lmao

I am sure if we ask The 2 Sunderland fans here that, would you take a 6-0 Smashing at Sports Direct Arena next week, if it means you're 100% guaranteed to beat Everton in FA Cup and reach Semis ?

I am sure both will say Yes, if they had to pick one.

FA cup is definitely more important than CC.

You include all cups in your club's history. Be is league, cups, or European cups.

Maybe if they were promised a FA Cup triumpth doubt Semi's would cut it, because it would keep us out of europe most likely and they would get that european spot instead

so many people on this forum asked "what have you won for last 3 years"

and i didnt respond by saying "we have won copa del rey"

Instead when people asked about "how many times you beat Barca in last 3 years"

Ill jump and say we won 1-0 in mestella lol..

If that Copa win was against any other club im sure many here wont give a single shit about it nor will be the players.

Yeah...A lot of hype surrounds the FA Cup..So much so that certain English experts called it the best cup competition in the world.

Well i just like how this particular competition involves so many teams(I am correct right ?)..

Maybe its just all about hype and coverage in the end..Or atleast from my perspective where India seem to be so England-centric and certainly FA Cup is viewed as a big competition here.

Imo Carling Cup ,Coppa Italia and Kings Cup is all on the same level imo.FA Cup is something different.

I totally agree. I get excited even when we win the Community shield. Some people can be a bit spoilt sometimes and dismiss trophies.

But my main gripe is when LFC fans in the past dismissed it as a Mickey mouse cup when we won it 2 years ago, same with United fans taking the piss out of LFC yesterday on forums and blogs. The hypocrisy is hilarious.
