When Should Wenger's Reign End?
Re: The Definitive Wenger POLL
Just found this article and yes it kind of pissed me off.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/fa-cup-swansea-vs-arsenal-1519713
Arsene Wenger admits he is responsible for Arsenal’s much-maligned ‘socialist’ wage structure.
I wonder what Arsene would think of his pay being changed to a more socialist model and closing the gap between his pay and some of the lower paid managers. Or maybe he can change home ticket prices to a more socialist scale. Insuring that tickets at the Emirates are something closer to those at Wigan or Man chitty.
If this article is actually quotes from him, at least we now know why he is not able to bring in WC players, or even keep our best players and why he can not get rid of the dead wood.

Wenger should stay at Arsenal but not as Manager.
I'd love Pep to take over, more so after the rumour that circulated regarding his reluctance to join Chelsea. If Wenger stays, it better not be as a Dorector of Football or anything in that capacity as I can envisage a relationship meltdown between the two.

Wenger controls everything at Arsenal, he sells who he wants and buys who he wants.
Don't forget Wenger had a hand in hiring Ivan and giving him raise also.

Re: The Definitive Wenger POLL
I've decided, too. Looking back through this thread, I said I wanted a change regardless of our league position last season and my stance has on that has only strengthened this season.
We can put the Champions League aside since there's not a whole lot we can do about that, but our performances in the league and domestic cups have fallen short of expectation. Even if he gets us into the top four, I have no confidence he can suitably improve the squad in the summer - will he drop Vermaelen and get a better centre back? Will he replace Sagna adequately? Will he get us that long-awaited defensive midfielder? Will he get us a top striker? It's perhaps a bit early to be speculating on that now, but I find it hard to see those needs being addressed.

I'm sure Arsene will feel right at home with the Newcastle French contingent, while Pardew has no problem signing players so Arsenal fans will be content as well

Re: The Definitive Wenger POLL
Originally I voted for 'give him one more season'
Now? End of season if no top 4. Simply due to him not buying properly in January...or in May for that matter. We have one out and out CF and no decent DM...since August!
TBH, I'm close to 'right now'.
Lose to Villa and the Spuds and I think 80% of gooners will want him out. Sad, but true.

Re: The Definitive Wenger POLL
This isnt a kneejerk from the Bayern match because I knew we were going to lose. But Wenger needs to go. He just doesn't seem like he knows what he's doing anymore. Thanks for the memories, but its time for some new blood. This stuff has been happening for years and years and nothing seems to change:
- We seem to go into games without any game plan. We line up 4-3-3 every game regardless of opponent. Even if theres a minor tactical adjustment, we never execute properly. We play Giroud and yet never send in any crosses into the box. We play Walcott at striker yet doesn't have the support cast to supply him with the right balls. We know teams will park the bus against us, yet we wont change our natural set up to try to break their defense.
- Our defense. This is surely becoming a joke. Do we even practice defense in training? We've been making the same mistakes for years and theres no improvements whatsoever. Are we going back and reviewing on tape our mistakes and trying to rectify them? Doesn't seem like it.
- We'll have one truly world class player and surround him with average players. If Wenger stays, he WILL NOT buy world class players to surround Wilshere. He will expect Wilshere to carry the team and then complain in 3 years why he left.

Re: The Definitive Wenger POLL
Honestly I think he has taken us as far as he can he is too stubborn in his ways and doesn't realise that the game has changed a lot in the past 5 years.
Why would you ever put two midfield players against Schweni, Kroos and Martinez possibly the most in-form midfield in the world. Then play a formation which we haven't played since when?? with two players who are no where near capable of fulfilling the requirements of the formation in a CL match..
January transfer window like every window for the past 4 years, sign someone who doesn't improve our squad just a quick fix to a glaring problem.
Has his favourite players who he plays over and over till he is forced to put someone else on instead of them. Ramsey at the start of the season and Gervinho...
Arteta a 30 year old midifielder with no pace or strength can barely tackle is what we have relied on the majority of the season to cover our back four. We have Coquelin who while hasn't been amazing can still offer a lot to the team and I am sure we will see it when he leaves.
Letting a WC CF who scored 30+ goals for us last season is not worth breaking our wage structure for and not only that sell them to supposedly one of our rivals...
I think we all know that he has to go and while he has been a great servant to the club and will always be remembered. He has been managing for half his life and in my opinion he needs a leave so he can relax and possibly come back after he has rested come back to football as a director of football or something similar.

Re: The Definitive Wenger POLL
My Views
Give Wenger one more season. why?
1. Wenger is a great coach, he has a good eye for talent
2. All this turmoil thats been happening its not about wenger being a bad coach, rather his stubborness in the transfer market. his transfer policies are bad yes but i am pretty sure in August, he is going to have a big Kitty so i'm giving him one more season.
3. Hegot us in this mess and i believe he knows how to take us out given the right resources.
4. Off topic- I just love his coat....its awesome

Re: The Definitive Wenger POLL
I am finding it hard to believe that Arsenal fans actually want their best coach to leave, without Wenger Arsenal wouldn't be where they are now.
He's the best coach for Arsenal, no other coach can do better.

Re: The Definitive Wenger POLL
We all appreciate what Wenger has achieved, there's no question about that. But when I hear people say 'give Wenger time' and all that nonsense it just irritates me.
Like I said in the other thread similar to this one: I can reel of so many problems that Wenger has developed over the last few season, which in my honest opinion, have been the worst. Can anyone tell me why
-Wenger ALWAYS wait till the 70th minute to make a change?
-Why our best players have been sold and replaced with average players.
-Why average players are on big contracts
-Why Wenger and the PR machine lie time and time again about transfer budget and player targets?
-Why all types of ticket prices have increased although our on field performances have been embarrassing?
-Why Wenger is scared to change formation?
-Why Wenger plays players out of position?
-Why Wenger is the only manager to constantly refuse to accept the facts regarding Arsenal currrent state - on and off the field

Not much ever changed, did it.
Wenger is a *bleep* dictator.
It's only now that he's been exposed for what he really is. Arrogant, selfish and proud
