Re: The Definitive Wenger POLL
id give him one more year to see what he can do. we were after top players during last summer but because of the nasri/cesc deals things got complicated. im hoping wenger learned from last summer and deals with the rvp situation properly, in addition to buying the players that we need quickly so that we can have a successful season

Yeah, I'm feeling another year. One more year for him to at least show promise, we don't have to win the league but we need to be moving up and challenging for all trophies. Plus, if we are terrible next year I don't think he'll even stay.

Invincible to invisible.
The end of season he must take all the dead wood with him and leave
The only way I want him to stay if he makes RVP stay and brings in Hazard and Podolski.

Re: The Definitive Wenger POLL
I voted "at the end of the season regardless of league position".
See, what will end up happening is that we'll say he needs to the end of the transfer window before we can evaluate. And then what if we have another bad summer? We'll say he needs until January. Then what if he has an idle January? We'll say he needs until the end of the season. And what if the season ends in failure again?
It's a cycle that unfortunately has to come to an end. This summer is a good opportunity to do so, in my opinion.

The sad thing is He could have won more .When we were challenging for the title we were always two players off winning it, whether it was a striker or a defender or a keeper. He refused to address these issues when they were clearly there

Thats the thing, we were always that one player away from wining major trophies.

Wengere has himself to blame, after 3 years of failed Wengerism, he still believed it would work

Squid was a panic buy, we were after Hummels but he said no in the last minute. Had to get Squillaci as no one wanted to sell at that time

From the Arsenal Lobby
Provided he spends every cent, we can become a wrecking crew. I honestly see it happening. The future of Arsenal is at stake and Arsene Wenger can see it, being handed this kind of a check means you can buy 2 or 3 world class players. Or in Wenger's case, 55 million South American teenagers.
Does this fact change anyone's opinion?

Same for me, Voted for same option.
There is no point in getting someone else who will do nothing more than wenger is doing now. IF we genuinly had cash, then sure change is good. But whats the point in next manager getting us medicore players as well ?
Keep wenger, and if the report of 55m cash for him is true. Good times ahead

Re: The Definitive Wenger POLL
Without a tint of hyperbole, i think it's safe to say this is absolutely the lowest the club has ever been for years. Lower than when Viera and Bergkamp finished up, lower than when Henry left, lower than when Eduardo broke his leg and we crumbled, lower than when we lost to Barcelona last season, even lower than last year, when Nasri and Fabregas left. Out of every single competition before March and struggling to qualify for Europe next season
If Wenger, even after all that's happened, still refused to re-evaluate his philosophy, it'll probably be best he left

Re: The Definitive Wenger POLL
Again though, it comes down the question of "will he spend it on the right players?". We've seen in recent summers that some of the players he has brought in haven't been good enough, and he has missed on the players that would have been. Should we allow him another chance with the money, knowing full well that Wenger has lost his touch in the transfer market?
Anyway, I think that report is not accurate. We're about to post profits in the £55mil region, but profits =/= transfer kitty. It suggests there's a decent amount to spend, but the actual amount can only be speculated upon. Not that that will prevent fans using it as a stick to beat Wenger with.

Re: The Definitive Wenger POLL
Our 1st 11 is really good, i would say potentially it can win us silverware. The depth is where all the things go wrong
We have 2-3 players who will obviously go out for the season as usual. Their repalcement needs to be better than the likes of Squillaci
If we can get Vertonghen, Hoillet, Matias, Biglia in and then sell the deadwood. That will be an awesome transfer window

Re: The Definitive Wenger POLL
I'm not even sure our starting 11 is THAT good, to be honest. Surely there are far more reliable left backs out there than Gibbs and Santos? And what is our out and out first team centre back pairing? Verm and Kos? Verm and Mert? Mert and Kos?
Little things like this need to be addressed before we can even begin to contemplate winning anything

Wenger only has 1 year left on his contract yea? Well tell ya what, i wanna see what he's gonna do in his last year here... I have no doubt he will do absolutely everything in his power to win some trophies. So i wanna see how we end up then. So i'm gonna say i'll give him 1 more year. (yes i'm awware i said that last year)

Arsenal needs an owner that splashes cash on big players without Wenger's consent, not a new coach.

Arsene should go if we wont reach Top4. And I really hope we get Top4, so the board don't have to sack him - that would be so sad.

Agreed. Your central midfield is not that good either. I like Song (although he has some flaws) but Ramsey/Rosicky + Arteta is not good enough. And you never know how Wilshere will come back. Then at top, Arsenal is overly depending on RVP. Theo is ok, but not really a great player, AOC shows promise, but still has a lo to show, etc.
You can improve your depth and your staring 11.
Oh, and Wenger biggest mistake has nothing to do with spending, is keeping people healthy.
