He's trained at a world class gym for two years, he'll be better coached than Gall anyway.

Most UFC guys getting their first fight don't get the level of coaching he'll have been receiving at Roufusport gym.

He probably will lose, but at the end of the day he's been given every opportunity to succeed at this and it's not like Gall is some legit guy either. He is only here as well because he was chosen to fight Punk, not a chance in hell he's here otherwise.

My biggest issue is like most people he won't have a clue how to cut weight for a fight, at the weigh in he looked like absolute shit.

I just hope he doesn't embarrass himself.

I'm not sure what will happen either, like Mole says, Gall was handpicked more or less although he's had a couple fights including amateur, we keep hearing how the footage we're seeing from Punk is really old and it better be because he looks like shite. Plus him being old and having injuries and a broken down body. I think if he makes to to the second or third round that's decent, everybody has him written off already so as long as he gives a good account of himself it's alright. More interested in other fights on the card anyway.

been waiting for Overeem to get a shot at the UFC title for 7 years which is when I started following MMA properly, he was my favorite fighter (I also watched a lot of K-1 kickboxing, so that's why.) Not convinced he will be able to win tonight, pretty nervous for him ffs. Can beat any fighter on the planet but also loses to people he shouldn't because of his weakish chin, Stipe is tough as nails and keeps a ridiculous pressure which is Overeem's kryptonite. Hope he wins the title though. Don't care about Punk at all, would be a nice swerve if he wins though I suppose. Everyone writing him off.

Plenty of them could adapt and do OK if they started at a young enough age, because they're for the most part already world class conditioned athletes.

And the rare few who are genetic freaks like Brock, plus with a steady history of PEDs, can learn what is pretty shitty stand up and use their rasslin background to ground n pound their way to big wins.

Punk has zero physical advantages over any MMA fighter, he was always skinnyfat in WWE and now he's just skinny.
