I tend to agree with Free with one condition. I think he would be great for us if we could teach him how to defend. Currently, however, he can't, so it'd be a massive gamble buying a fullback who can't defend... If we could somehow get him to defend as well as Alves he'd be a revelation.

There's also the thing that he's Welsh, and he'd find it difficult settling.

He want to go to Madrid because it would suit his style of play. I tend to agree with him... though Madrid won't buy another leftback as they already have 2 young ones in Marcelo and Fabio Conentrao. Whats the point of having another one? I guess they could move him to left forward though he probably won't get much playing time or others such as Huagain won't...

Yeah, I've had a hard time with this as well...Under Rosell, only Adriano's transfer came virtually out of the blue otherwise momentum builds in the media towards the intended targets...There is indeed momentum towards his signing, I believe

I despise his antics, that is not going to change but two things...He's a monster player in terms of danger in and around the box, even at this age...Plus, let's face it, who wants to see Barça have to face this player anymore eh?

So, I'd be on board with it, even if a bit reluctantly...The good apart from the obvious is that I don't recall any teammates talking him down in the clubhouse, he is friends with many professional footballers off the pitch and is quite active in charitable endeavours which suggests he's a good guy

Drogba tries to portray a good image of himself off the pitch but he is a diver and a time waster.

Would be a good addition though, especially for free. Seriously you can't go wrong with that.

The Drogba rumours are gaining momentum. I don't like his antics on the pitch but at least he'll be on our side pissing off others this time around. If he settles to be a Plan B, I have no problem.

I would rather have Drogba for free then paying for Llorente, for various reasons.

Replace Llorente's name with nearly all the names we mentioned thus far and it remains true.

Suárez for the the right price is better than all of them. Strong, quick, good technique, team player, good finisher. And he's 25.

I wouldn't be opposed to Drogba for free. I imagine what we save on transfer would be spent on wages though.

Emery has concerned the Jordi Alba sale, hopefully not to us.

EMD states Bale only wants to play in a team with C. Ronaldo. Would be great if that's true. Even if Dani leaves I don't want Bale. I can only see it ending badly.

I understand people's concern. He is a feisty character but it is because he is very passionate. He works so hard in defence and attack, runs his socks off, he has all the qualities a top forward would posses, apart from maybe heading. I remember Barcelona were linked to him a few years ago as well and his agent was Pere Guardiola (Pep's brother) back then.

Anyway, I don't really see Barcelona signing him. I think these are just rumours.

Don't compare the services Suarez gets at Liverpool to Alexis in our team...

Although I have to say I've been let down by Suarez finishing at Liverpool, although I think he is playing good, but I thought he would score more (he has chances, but misses).

Anyway, I would happily sign him, but it would have been wiser to sign him from Ajax, Liverpool will ask a lot I suppose.

In his Ajax time he stated on multiple occasions that Barça was his dream club though, so even though he seems very pleased with being a Liverpudlian right now, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he would force his way out if Barça would at any moment want to buy him. He's done it before (Groningen to Ajax). I agree with you, danyjr, on his character though. I don't think he's got a very bad personality, he's just always so extremely motivated and sometimes he overreacts. I don't see him coming either though. If Barça wanted it him, they should've gone for it earlier when he left Ajax.

We have been linked with him for a long time. He could easily fit wither on the wing or in the middle for that Plan B though his attitude towards the game is quite poor and Barca don't like signing players who have behavioural issues...

... Since when have we ever pretended that buying players wasn't key to our club? The only thing Barca ever claims is that they try to keep the Catalan identity of the team in place and use homegrown players as the core of the team.

This is more true than ever. The pride of our team is predominantly the La Masia players, few other clubs can claim this.
