Why would you want Madrid to fail?
Players are humen and they play and learn and improve their skills. Why do they do all those to please you as a fan? No they basically trying to earn higher paycheck and better life for themselves. Clubs like Man city might hurt football by buying players like rodwell and use them as bench warmer and refuse to sell them(god knows why) but Madrid usually sells players they don't need. Some might criticize them and consistently go on and on about sneijder CL title and what not but that's Madrid, who sold them and allow them to find playing time elsewhere. Basically Real Madrid is like the paradise for most players.

well in any job you need to first prove yourself to land a higher paycheck and after comes accountability and earning the paycheck. If you compare football to any kind of performing art, this becomes more obvious to you. pressure can make or break people. Real Madrid at least doesn't represent any specific minority . Your performance get you there and lack of it get you out of there.". Simple and fair unlike many clubs.

A Real Madrid fan could help you more with that question but as far as i know Casillas broke his hand and that forced Madrid to get Lopez to cover his position and honestly i have no idea what went on between him and mourinho . Carletto however said that Lopez started pre-season training earlier and was physically fitter.
