Lets see what happens when he is 28, at 23 Alves had just begun to make a name for himself.

I think within 5 years Marcelo can give Alves a run for his money

Not just one really, Dani's never really had a solid run of good performances ever with Brazil, agreed that its a kneejerk , but you can't deny the fact that Mehcelo is outperforming him in the NT.

Are you saying Dani is playing better than him ? Because as far as i've seen Dani's been struggling to get a good run of performances going for the NT

Dani could'nt even keep Maicon on the bench during the Copa, his form has been inconsistent for Brazil, whereas Marcelo has been getting better with each new call up.

Dani is a better fullback than Marcelo, and that is why he deserves to get some slack for his inconsistent performances for Brazil.

And to think some would call him better than Cafu ..

Only a deluded barca fan would say that. Same barca fans that woukld say busquets is better than makelele and pedro is the best winger in the world when he's an inside forward. I take very few Barcelona fans on this forum seriously tbh. BUT, Marcelo can't be compared to Alves, for one they play different positions and 2, Alves has been performing at a far higher levvel for longer. Come back in five seasons then we'll talk.
